Abstract: A terminal sends to a host computer CAD drawing data which contains basic specifications of products ordered by a customer. The host computer manages product catalog information including price information of products for which orders can be accepted and customer planning information in which planning information of each customer about detail specifications of products has been registered, receives the CAD drawing data sent from the terminal, extracts the basic specifications of the ordered products from the CAD drawing data, searches the product catalog information using the extracted basic specifications of the ordered products and the customer planning information, creates quotation data based on retrieved product catalog information, and sends the quotation data to the terminal.

The method includes inquiring of the GPS-equipped portable telephone about its current location, making the GPS-equipped portable telephone return positional information of the current location measured by the GPS function, managing the returned positional information of the current location in a file, searching a map database based on the positional information of the current location, and preparing and displaying map data linked with the positional information of the current location.

Abstract: A method processes a simplified order placement and reception in a system comprising a host computer and a PDA. The method includes storing stocked-product data and estimation data in an order placement and reception information database provided in the host computer, transmitting from the host computer to the PDA the stocked-product data which is accompanied by the estimation data of a relevant product distribution channel in response to an inquiry request from the PDA, displaying the stocked-product data transmitted from the host computer on a screen in the PDA, and placing an order from the screen on which the stocked-product data are displayed in the PDA.

Abstract: A host computer stores stocked-product data and estimation data in an order placement and reception information database. In response to an inquiry request from the terminal, the host computer permits a terminal to refer to the stocked-product data and estimation data of parties relating to a relevant product distribution channel. The terminal refers to the data, creates estimation data, and transmits the estimation data to the host computer. The host computer stores the received estimation data in the order placement and reception information database as order placement data, and performs delivery management on the basis of the order placement data.
