    Abstract: A porous ceramic structure suitable for use as a filter for molten metal, in which a porous ceramic body having pores capable of passing a fluid therethrough is covered with a metal layer over the wall surface of the pores such that a fluid may flow through the pores while in contact with the metal layer. The filtering efficiency can be improved due to the increased wettability between the ceramic filter and the molten metal.
