  • Patent number: 11911621
Abstract: The present disclosure provides devices, systems, and methods for spinal cord stimulation. In some exemplary embodiments, a lead is provided. In one exemplary embodiment, the lead includes a paddle and an electrode array distributed in the paddle. The electrode array includes a first column of electrodes and a second column of electrodes. The first column of electrodes and the second column of electrodes are symmetric about the midline of the paddle. The first column of electrodes includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and a third electrode. The second column of electrodes includes a fourth electrode corresponding to the first electrode, a fifth electrode corresponding to the second electrode, and a sixth electrode corresponding to the third electrode. A vertical inter-electrode distance between the first electrode and the second electrode is larger than that between the second electrode and the third electrode.

  • Patent number: 11413459
Abstract: The present invention relates to systems and methods for planning and/or providing neurostimulation for a patient. An example system includes a pathological spinal cord map storage module for storing at least one pathological spinal cord map describing activation of a spinal cord of a patient, a healthy spinal cord map storage module for storing at least one reference map describing physiological activation of the spinal cord of at least one healthy subject, an analysis module for generating a deviation map, the deviation map describing an activation difference between the pathological spinal cord map and the reference map, and a compensation module for calculating, based on the deviation map, a neurostimulation protocol for compensating the activation difference.

  • Publication number: 20200384272
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system (10) for planning and/or providing neurostimulation for a patient, comprising a pathological spinal cord map storage module (48) for storing at least one pathological spinal cord map (49) describing the activation of the spinal cord of a patient, a healthy spinal cord map storage module (50) for storing at least one reference map (51) describing physiological activation of the spinal cord of at least one healthy subject, an analysis module (42) configured and arranged such that the pathological spinal cord map and the reference map can be compared and/or analyzed automatically such that a deviation map is created, the deviation map describing the difference between the pathological spinal cord map and the reference map, and a compensation module (52) which is configured and arranged to calculate on the basis of the deviation map a neurostimulation protocol for compensating the activation.

  • Patent number: 10668280
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for triggering electrical stimulation of a spinal cord during execution of a motor event. In one example, a method comprises monitoring motor cortex activity while execution of a desired motor movement is attempted during a first mode where one or more nerve fibers are not stimulated, and during a second mode where the one or more nerve fibers are stimulated. Delivery timing of electrical stimulation may be closed-loop controlled based on current motor cortex activity and the motor cortex activity recorded previously during both the first and second modes.

  • Patent number: 8433663
Abstract: Method and device for computer-aided prediction of intended movements from neuronal signals of a brain, wherein the neuronal signals are each associated in the brain with intended movements, wherein neuronal signals are recorded and the most probable movements are determined from these, specifically using a predetermined model in which a recorded neuronal signal and a determined movement are assigned to each other, and, for the probability with which a recorded neuronal signal corresponds to a respective predetermined movement, a predetermined distribution is assumed that is defined by specific characteristic values, wherein an adaptation of the neuronal signal is included in the predetermined model.
