  • Patent number: 9454263
Abstract: A touch display has a touch screen to display images and one or more infrared cameras to take images of objects contacting the touch screen. One or more calibration patterns are formed on the touch screen. In response, an automatic process takes place, with: producing an image of the touch screen by taking with each one of the group of infrared cameras a set of one or more images of the calibration patterns; determining geometric distortions of the images with relation to the formed one or more calibration patterns; and calculating calibration parameters configured to enable computational compensation of the determined geometric distortions. The calibration parameters are then stored.

  • Publication number: 20160170562
Abstract: A light guide assembly (2) for use in a touch sensitive area (3) of an optical touch sensing device (1) for touch screens is configured to receive light, to allow the light thereby received to propagate in the light guide assembly, and to deliver the light thereby propagated in the light guide assembly further out of the light guide assembly. The light guide assembly comprises a plurality of light guide stripes (4, 4? 5) for controlling the light propagation, and an interaction arrangement (27; 17; 21) configured to define at least one restricted interaction area (11) within the touch sensitive area for interaction between the light and the external object. The optical touch sensing device is configured to detect the presence of an external object (10) on the basis of changes in the light delivered further out of the light guide assembly due to interaction of the light with the external object.

  • Patent number: 9323431
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program for forming graphics in a drawing area based on user instructions. In response to addition or changing of a first graphical object, an interaction zone is formed around the first graphical object for a given continuation period. It is detected if a second graphical object is drawn starting from the interaction zone during the continuation period and if yes, the first graphical object is changed by merging the second graphical object with the first graphical object.

  • Patent number: 9075482
Abstract: An interactive display device (100) has an image layer (102) for presenting user perceivable visual content and a touching surface (101) covering the image layer (102) or formed by the image layer (102). Further, there are a plurality of invisible light sources (110) for illuminating alternatingly different sub-regions of the touching surface (101) and a plurality of touch detection units (107) for capturing images of illuminated sub-regions from behind the image layer (102). From the captured images contact areas are detected where a pointing object (112) contacts the touching surface (101) and thus causes correspondingly one or more marks in the captured images. The remaining ones of the invisible light sources (110) are controlled to be operable while adjacent touch detection units and associated invisible light sources are controlled to be non-operable so as to reduce undesired reflections of invisible light from non-contacting objects in the vicinity of the touching surface.

  • Patent number: 8654103
Abstract: An interactive display device (100) presents to a user (113) a visible image on an image layer (102) through a touching surface (101). The display device (100) has an illumination unit (107) that transmits infrared light and captures through the touching surface sets of infrared images of objects that are in the proximity of the touching surface. The display device (100) detects from the infrared images contact areas where a pointing object (112) is located with respect to the image layer (102) and casts in the infrared image a corresponding shadow. The illumination unit (107) alternates the infrared illumination so that each infrared image set has images taken with differing infrared illumination. Resulting variance in the shadows is used by the interactive display device (100) to detect whether the pointing object (112) contacts the touching surface (101) or not.

  • Publication number: 20110227876
Abstract: An interactive display (100) device with optical recognition (107, 111) of touching of display surface (101) in which an image is formed on a display (102) at which pointing can be made by a finger or other objects (112). Pointing objects (112) are detected by a machine view arrangement (107, 111) behind the display surface (101) within a casing (104) of the interactive display (100). Inside the casing (100), there is an infrared light reflection inhibitor (109) configured to substantially reduce the amount of infrared light that can reflect back and forth within the casing (104) to an extent that the optical recognition is excessively interfered. The infrared light reflection inhibitor (109) contains one or more refractive and/or reflective elements to redirect incoming infrared light such that the amount of residual light that can interfere the optical recognition is sufficiently reduced to allow the optical recognition even in bright daylight.
