Abstract: This invention relates to controlled preparation of fine particles such as nano-crystalline films and powders with at least one solvent being in a supercritical state. It provides methods, measures, apparatus and products produced by the methods. In other aspects, the invention relates to further treatment of formed particles such as encapsulation of formed primary particles, and methods and measures for collection of formed substances in a batch wise, semi-continuous or continuous manner.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for intensifying the energy content of an organic material by converting the material into hydrocarbons and the resulting product thereof. A method for converting an organic material into hydrocarbon fuels is disclosed. The method comprising the steps of pressurising said organic material being in a fluid to a pressure above 225 bar, heating said organic material in said fluid to a temperature above 200 C in the presence of a homogeneous catalyst comprising a compound of at least one element of group IA of the periodic table of elements. The disclosed method further comprises the steps of contacting said organic material in said fluid with a heterogeneous catalyst comprising a compound of at least one element of group IVB of the periodic table and/or alpha-alumina assuring that said fluid has initially a pH value of above 7.

Abstract: A process for treatment of wood susceptible to damage and having a length that is over the critical length with a fluid under high pressure is disclosed. The process is conducted in a way so that the fluid is not allowed to enter into the liquid form inside the wood. In one embodiment the process is performed in a way so the temperature during the pressurizing is not allowed to exceed the plastification temperature of the wood. In this embodiment the rate of damages of the wood is even further reduced.

Abstract: A device for handling light objects, such as CDs, with one hand without the objects being touched with the hand, the device having one or more suction parts configured for inspiration against a plane face of the object and a gripper configured for being seized and secured with one hand. A flexible elastomer body is provided at the gripper which is configured for complete or partial filling and emptying of a void in order to produce, via one or more communication passages, a sub atmospheric pressure between the suction parts and the plane face of the objects upon abutment and inspiration by the device against the object.

Abstract: A holder for flat articles (1) in the form of CD cassettes, CD-ROM cassettes, diskettes and the like comprises a base part (6) to support the articles (1) placed in the holder, and a frame part (2) arranged above and at a distance from the base part (6) and provided with two longitudinal side members (3). The holder moreover comprises end members (4) serving as rest means for the articles (1) arranged in the holder, and includes at least one connecting member (5) connecting the frame part with the base part. The base part (6) is formed with an essentially plane support face for the articles (1) and with means (8) to prevent the supported articles from sliding on the support face of the base part.
