  • Patent number: 5842667
Abstract: The invention relates to a mass transit method including a docking terminal where passengers are loaded onto a craft with integral passenger pod. The craft lifts vertically from the docking terminal until it reaches an appropriate commuting altitude within 1,000 feet of the ground at which time the craft will fly to a second docking terminal and vertically descend to the second terminal for unloading of passengers. The commuting routes are networked to create an urban-suburban-rural mass transit system. The utility area of the craft can be detached and replaced. For instance, a passenger pod can be interchanged with a cargo, an emergency medical service (rescue) or a military unit pod for an innovative and versatile means of transportation.

  • Patent number: 5809684
Abstract: A hook setting apparatus comprised of a post and a telescoping stake for mounting the apparatus on the shore of a lake, river or ocean. The hook setting apparatus is comprised of a trigger release mechanism having a bracket mounted on the post. A trigger release mechanism comprised of a pin and a trigger release lever are secured to a fishing line with the natural flexibility of a fishing pole holding a trigger pin in the trigger release lever. Slack in the fishing line is passed through the trigger release lever and extends beneath the body of water being fished. The trigger release mechanism relies on the natural flexibility of a fishing pole to apply to the force to set a hook. The trigger release lever releases the end of the pin allowing the fishing pole to snap sharply backward, applying considerable force to a fishing line to set a hook.

  • Patent number: 5797565
Abstract: A railway crossing, sometimes referred to as a diamond crossing, has four substantially identical crossing beams which have cutouts made for a wide range of crossing angles. At least two separate base plates are cut to fit the required crossing angle and positioned beneath the crossing beams. Each crossing beam has a flangeway groove extending along at least a portion of the beam length and each beam has integral rail shaped ends for connection to a standard rail section. The crossing beams have top cutouts and bottom cutouts that intersect and are set for a predetermined crossing angle. Boltless locator pins prevent horizontal movement of the top and bottom beams on the plates, and elastic fasteners hold the top and bottom beams to the plates to restrict vertical movement between the top and bottom beams and the plates.

  • Patent number: 5702206
Abstract: A support structure for use with at least two wells, and a method for providing and supporting at least two wells in the ground beneath a body of water, includes a caisson, a plurality of conductors, and a guide frame, which support at least two wells without the use of any piles or brace members, the at least two wells being supported solely by the conductors, the caisson, and the guide frame.
