Publication number: 20250202363Abstract: Embodiments of a switch converter are disclosed. In some embodiments, a master switching stage includes a master primary switch, a master secondary switch, and a master power inductor. The primary master switch and the secondary master switch are opened and closed to generate a master ripple current from the Direct Current (DC) input voltage through the master power inductor. A slave switching stage includes a slave primary switch, a slave secondary switch, and a slave power inductor. The primary slave switch and the secondary slave switch are opened and closed to generate a slave ripple current from the DC input voltage through the slave power inductor, wherein a phase between the master ripple current and the slave ripple current is set in accordance with a ramp signal. The present disclosure also relates to a method of converting a DC input voltage into a DC output voltage.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 17, 2024Publication date: June 19, 2025Inventors: Van Liem Dinh, Tommy Nguyen, Harry Trinh

Publication number: 20250169835Abstract: The present disclosure provides a catheter for treating lesions in a body lumen, such as calcified lesions and occlusions in vasculature. When a voltage is applied across the conductive elements, current flows across an arcing region, from one electrode element to another, to produce shock waves and cavitation bubbles. As a treatment continues, the conductive elements slowly erode at the arcing region where current flows between the electrodes. To increase the lifespan of the electrode assembly, the distal edges of the conductive elements may be shaped to promote erosion of the sheaths in a predetermined or semi-controlled pattern.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2023Publication date: May 29, 2025Applicant: Shockwave Medical, Inc.Inventors: Anna-Elodie KERLO, Hester CHAN, Hoa D. NGUYEN, Chi LONG, Huy phan, Leela Goel, Tommy NGUYEN

Publication number: 20250127530Abstract: A catheter for treating a lesion in a body lumen includes an elongate member, an enclosure, and shock wave emitters enclosed by the enclosure. At least one of the shock wave emitters has a different size than at least one of the other emitters. Providing a smaller shock wave emitter at a distal end of the catheter can help make the catheter more navigable through the body lumen.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 22, 2024Publication date: April 24, 2025Applicant: Shockwave Medical, Inc.Inventors: Khanh VO, Tommy NGUYEN, Raymond Chester ESTRADA, Huy PHAN, Denny KAT-KUOY

Publication number: 20230165598Abstract: The present disclosure provides a catheter for treating lesions in a body lumen, such as calcified lesions and occlusions in vasculature. The catheter can include a dual-layer electrode assembly having a first conductive sheath and a second conductive sheath arranged circumferentially therearound. In some implementations, a first conductive sheath can be a flat coil. When a voltage is applied across the conductive sheaths, current flows across an arcing region, for example, from the distal side edge of the first sheath to the distal side edge of the second sheath to produce shock waves and/or cavitation bubbles. As a treatment continues, the sheaths slowly erode at the arcing region where current flows between the sheaths. To increase the lifespan of the electrode assembly, the distal side edges of the sheaths may be shaped to promote erosion of the sheaths in a predetermined or semi-controlled pattern.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2022Publication date: June 1, 2023Inventors: Hoa D. Patent number: 11178512Abstract: A portable vaporizer system and method are provided. The portable vaporizer system includes a housing having an airflow channel connecting an air inlet to a vapor outlet through a mouthpiece disposed at a first end of the housing. A fluid chamber within the housing can store fluid to be vaporized and is operably connected to an atomizer within the housing, between the air inlet and the vapor outlet. A power control is disposed at a base of the housing and can selectively adjust voltage supplied from a power source to the atomizer for controlling a fluid temperature during the vaporizing process. A sensor is disposed within the housing for detecting fluid levels, power usage, flow rates, and the like. The information detected by the sensor is stored as user data and transmitted to a remote electronic device, wherein a graphical user interface (GUI) displays the user data.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2019Date of Patent: November 16, 2021Inventor: Tommy Nguyen

Publication number: 20080091055Abstract: Apparatus for delivering brachytherapy to a target tissue region includes an elongate body including a proximal end, a distal end sized for introduction into a tissue tract and carrying a plurality of elongate members including pathways for receiving a source of radiation. The elongate members are movable between collapsed and expanded configurations. During use, a tract is created through tissue, and the elongate body carrying the elongate members is advanced through the tract into a target location with the elongate members in the collapsed configuration. The elongate members are directed to the expanded configuration at the target location, and radiation is delivered to treat tissue at the target location, e.g., by introducing one or more radiation sources along the pathways. The apparatus may include features to prevent overexpansion of the elongate members and/or to facilitate rapid collapse of the elongate members.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 6, 2007Publication date: April 17, 2008Applicant: Cianna Medical, Inc.Inventors: Tommy Nguyen, Than Nguyen, Doug Sutton, George Hermann, Luis Urquidi
