Ink-jet print head assemblies with a spacer surrounding an ink fill port and method of manufacturing
Patent number: 10780704Abstract: A print head assembly for an ink-jet printer operable with a continuous ink supply system is disclosed, with an ink compartment, a foam insert, an ink fill port, and a spacer. The ink fill port receives ink fed from an external supply and to be printed by the print head assembly. The ink compartment stores the ink to be printed. The foam insert is in the ink compartment and takes up the ink to be stored. The spacer extends into the ink compartment, provides for the formation of a clearance between the foam insert and the ink fill port and surrounds the ink fill port either completely or with one or more gaps having a gap width. The gap width of none of the gaps presents an aperture angle of more than 25% of 36° with respect to a center of the ink fill port.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 2016Date of Patent: September 22, 2020Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Aidan O'Reilly, Tommy O'Connor, John Oliver, David Kelly, Stephen Byrne -

Patent number: 8081601Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program operate so as to formulate a request at a terminal for a network access node to transmit a broadcast message; to transmit the request on an out-of-band radio channel for reception by the network access node; and to receive the broadcast message prior to a next scheduled time for the broadcast message to be transmitted. The network may be a WiMAX network, and the broadcast message may be at least one of a downlink channel descriptor/uplink channel descriptor and system identity information advertisement message. Also disclosed is a corresponding network access node that operates so as to receive a request from at least one terminal, where the request is a request to transmit a broadcast message and is received on an out-of-band radio channel. The network access node responds by transmitting the broadcast message prior to a next scheduled time for the broadcast message to be transmitted.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2008Date of Patent: December 20, 2011Assignee: Nokia CorporationInventors: Mikko J. Publication number: 20100293614Abstract: In response to an initialization of the apparatus, a validation value is calculated for each of a plurality of application executable files and the validation values are stored in a protected memory portion of random access memory. An attempt to launch an application on the apparatus is determined, and a current validation value for an executable file associated with the application is calculated. The current validation value is compared with a corresponding one of the stored validation values, and launching of the application is regulated based on results of the comparison.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 12, 2009Publication date: November 18, 2010Inventors: Kari M.
