Abstract: An automated biomonitoring system for monitoring water quality includes an exposure chamber for housing an aquatic organism having ventilatory behavior and body movement sensitive to water quality. Electrodes sense electrical signals produced by the organism during its ventilatory behavior and body movement, and a controller responsive to signals from the electrodes determines a plurality of ventilatory parameters based on the signals. The ventilatory parameters are compared with corresponding thresholds to determine when the water to which the organism is exposed has caused physiological stress to the organism.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for assisting a human between sitting and erect positions relative to a chair. A support strut extends from a base plate with the support strut angularly offset away from the chair when the apparatus is positioned frontal of the chair from a vertical line 90.degree. perpendicular to the top face of the base member. A plurality of elevationally separated hand graspable recepticals are defined offset and away from the support strut. The unit is compact and easily transportable from storage to use locations.

Abstract: A catalyst screening unit having a housing which receives incoming feed catalyst under positive pressure, a screen for sizing and separating whole catalyst from broken catalyst, dust, and fines, a vibrating member to vibrate the housing and the screen therewith, and a lower, waste chamber for collecting broken catalyst and fines to be directed outwardly therefrom the housing, and having vacuum provisions therewith for removing dust separately from the fines, such that the cleaned whole catalyst may be used within a catalytic reactor.
