    Abstract: A clinch bolt (1) have a screw shaft portion (2) is inserted into aperture (11) previously formed in metal plate (10) and be locked by caulking to metal plate (10), wherein a plurality of protrusions (4) and depressions (5) are alternately peripherally disposed on a neck shaft portion directly below head portion (3) disposed at one end of screw shaft portion (2), and projection (4) is configured in that end (4b) of screw shaft portion (2) side is larger in diameter than end (4a) of head portion (3) side, and aperture (11) formed in metal plate (10) is configured in that the hole diameter thereof is a little larger than the maximum diameter of protrusion (4), and only metal plate (10) at the periphery of aperture (11) is partially deformed by caulking (plastic deformation) so as to bite into protrusion (4) and depression (5), thereby providing the clinch bolt (1) with both of a resistance to twist-out and a resistance to pull-out.
