  • Patent number: 6559805
Abstract: There is disclosed an antenna apparatus used for satellite communication or the like and including an antenna rotating in an azimuth angle direction and an elevation angle direction, which can be miniaturized without using a slip ring for ensuring electrical connection between a stationary portion and a movable portion. A rotary member 3 is rotated by rotation of a motor 5 to rotate an antenna 11 about an azimuth axis. On the other hand, a motor 9 is rotated to rotate a rotary member 7, and a relative rotary shaft 14 is rotated by relative rotation between the rotary member 3 and the rotary member 7. • Patent number: 6556165
Abstract: An AC power source applies power to a primary coil that is provided in a fixed part. • Patent number: 6075482
Abstract: An antenna controller mounted on a movable body is provided for controlling antenna driving for satellite tracking. The antenna controller comprises a step tracking circuit for performing step tracking operation on a turning face of the movable body while receiving electromagnetic waves from a satellite, and for calculating an antenna pointing direction in which an intensity of the electric wave is strongest. An antenna driving circuit drives the antenna in the antenna pointing direction, while a reference output correcting circuit adds a correction quantity to a reference output of a rate sensor based on a result of the step tracking operation.

  • Patent number: 5764185
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling an antenna and a tracking antenna system using them. A rate sensor detects the angular rate of the vehicle turning. On the basis of the detected value, an error correction circuit determines the steering angle of the antenna. If it is judged from the determined angle that the vehicle is not turning or only slightly turning, a motor driving circuit suspends driving of a motor and at the same time a linear actuator locks a major gear. If it is judged that an accumulated error of a control target which is determined on the basis of the output of the rate sensor is not negligible, the error correction circuit starts a closed-loop control on the basis of a receiving signal level. In such a manner, the power consumption in the motor can be reduced.
