  • Patent number: 6508400
Abstract: In a conventional method which defines an authentication key for each record, as the number of the records is increased in an access right management for records in a memory of an IC card, the number of the types of authentication keys is also increased to require a larger memory area for storing the authentication keys, thus causing lower memory efficiency. In order to solve such a problem, terminal types (ex. “0H”-“7H”) are defined for interrogators, so that only the number of authentication keys equal to the number of the terminal types are stored. Each record has the number of access permission bits equal to the number of the terminal types, and specifies terminal types, to which an access is permitted, by setting the bits ON or OFF.

  • Publication number: 20020147566
Abstract: A position calculation method that calculates the correct position of a terminal even when errors are not distributed symmetrically for positive and negative values, by calculating the position of a terminal using the delay time of received signals. The method calculates a first range that is a difference between a range from the terminal to each of antenna and a range from the terminal to a base antenna, the range being calculated from a wireless signal delay time; calculates a second range that is a difference between a range from an assumed terminal position for calculation to each antenna and a range from the assumed terminal position for calculation to the base antenna; calculates a likelihood of the position of the terminal, repeats these procedures to obtain a point where the likelihood is maximized, and determines an obtained most likely solution as the position of the terminal.

  • Patent number: 6459402
Abstract: Under a multi-path environment, the receive timing for an incoming wave of the minimum propagation delay time cannot be accurately measured in the prior art. By using the delay profile created by delay profile creating section 102 and the first threshold value 330 received from the first threshold value calculation section 105, the first threshold value timing detection section 103 selects only the earliest receive timing exceeding the first threshold value, from all the timings that the correlation value in the delay profile becomes a maximum. By using the receive timing and the second threshold value 331 received from the second threshold value calculation section 107, the reference timing calculation section 106 selects the reference timing required for calculating the receive timing for the incoming wave of the minimum propagation delay time.

  • Patent number: 6456830
Abstract: In the conventional diversity reception, information included in each non-selected signal does not contribute to an improvement in the reliability of communications, and transmitting power has been dissipated to satisfy required communication quality. Owing to the setting of encoding in respective base stations to injection, signals each including the same contents, which are received by a mobile station, are used for increasing the reliability of communications without depending on the number of the signals which were capable of being received by the mobile station, to thereby reduce transmitting power for satisfying required communication quality.

  • Patent number: 6388562
Abstract: A reader/writer (RW) requires identification of anti-collision techniques used by IC cards (A, B, C, and D). The IC cards implement answers to the anti-collision technique identification requirement by the reader/writer at different timings respectively for respective IC cards among the IC cards which use different anti-collision techniques respectively. The reader/writer requires identifications of types of the IC cards in dependence upon the anti-collision techniques in response to the answers by the IC cards. The IC cards return identification data thereof in response to the card type identification requirements by the reader/writer for respective IC cards among the IC cards which use different anti-collision techniques respectively. The reader/writer identifies the types of the IC cards in response to the identification data of the respective IC cards.

  • Publication number: 20020032031
Abstract: In a P-MP fixed wireless access system using quasi-millimeter and millimeter wave bands, a relaying path is autonomously set up for subscriber stations without the need for additional provision of a repetition radio circuit using a costly MMIC. A subscriber station in the fixed wireless access system is provided with a repeating function for relaying signals between a different subscriber station and a base station, a buffer memory for temporarily storing signals to be communicated therebetween, and a table for registering information for identifying a relaying path between an own reference wireless station and a lower-level subscriber station for signal repetition. The base station is provided with a table in which, in order to perform signal communication with an arbitrary subscriber registered in the base station, routing information is registered for determining whether or not to set up a relaying path via a different subscriber station registered in the base station.

  • Publication number: 20020006120
Abstract: A time slot for connection request sent from a mobile station includes the mobile station ID and the application discrimination word of the object application for which the mobile station requests the connection. By referring to the database, a base station assigns a MDC preferentially to a mobile station issuing a connection request for calling high priority application. The base station monitors the MDCs used for ongoing communications. If a MDC assigned to a mobile station does not satisfy predetermined radio communication quality, other MDCs for lower priority application are freed and reassigned to the mobile station. A plurality of MDCs including the reassigned MDCs into which same contents are encapsulated are transmitted to the mobile station (903).

  • Publication number: 20020004398
Abstract: At least three base stations transmit a specific signal pattern at given intervals. This allows a mobile station that received this signal pattern to locate itself by using the positional information about the base stations, sending timing (or information on phase shift from the reference time) of each signal pattern from the base stations, and signal pattern receiving time information. At least one of the above base stations changes the sending timing of the signal pattern. On this occasion, the mobile terminal or station is notified of the altered reference time offset (or information on phase shift from the reference time) of the sending timing or updated sending timing of the signal pattern.
