  • Patent number: 6160322
Abstract: A pulse signal generator comprises a magnetic element capable of causing a large Barkhausen jump, a detector provided in relation to the magnetic element, a magnetic field source provided in the vicinity of the magnetic element to produce a biasing magnetic field which causes a predetermined magnetization of the magnetic element, and a magnetic circuit forming member provided in the vicinity of the magnetic element to produce a main magnetic field which cause a large Barkhausen jump in the magnetic element such that movement of the object to be detected changes the main magnetic field of the magnetic circuit forming member thereby causing a large Barkhausen jump to provide a pulse signal.

  • Patent number: 5934932
Abstract: An electrical connector is adapted for terminating a flat cable. The connector includes an elongated dielectric housing defining an elongated opening for receiving a flat electrical cable. A plurality of terminals are mounted on the housing and have contact portions spaced along the opening. An actuator is mounted on the housing for movement between a first position allowing free insertion of the flat cable into the opening and a second position wherein a pressure plate of the actuator biases the cable against the contact portions of the terminals. The actuator includes at least one narrow projection at a leading edge of the pressure plate for preliminarily engaging a narrow portion of the flat cable to bias the cable against only some of the contact portions before the actuator is fully moved to its second position.

  • Patent number: 5885092
Abstract: A connector assembly facilitates the registration of connector components. A plug connector in the assembly has a housing with a top surface defining a mating channel configured in a closed loop. A receptacle connector in the assembly has side walls of the housing configured in a closed loop which are received in the mating channel of the plug connector during mating. Terminals in the plug connector have contact portions disposed along the mating channel which engage respective contact portions of terminals disposed along the side walls of the receptacle connector upon mating.

  • Patent number: 5876217
Abstract: A connector assembly with improved retention characteristics includes opposing plug and receptacle connector housings, each containing conductive terminals. The terminals of one of the connector housings, preferably the plug connector housing include body portions with separate contact and locking portions extending upwardly therefrom and spaced apart from each other define a nest therebetween. The nest receives a portion of the other connector housing and the terminal contact and locking portions engage opposing sides of the other connector housing portion. The contact portions fictionally engage the other connector housing terminals while the locking portions positively engage recesses formed in the other connector housing.

  • Patent number: 5863217
Abstract: An electrical connector is provided for a flat electrical cable. The connector includes a housing loaded with a plurality of terminals. An actuator is movable mounted on the housing for biasing the cable into engagement with the terminals. A latching system is operatively associated between the housing and the actuator for retaining the actuator on the housing. The latching system includes a first latch mechanism latchable in a first direction and a second latch mechanism latchable in a second direction distinct from and at an angle to the first direction.

  • Patent number: 5833495
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a dielectric body mounting a plurality of terminals adapted for terminating the conductors of an electrical cable extending rearwardly from the body. A conductive shield casing substantially surrounds portions of the dielectric body and at least the terminations between the terminals and the conductors. A dielectric outer sheath substantially surrounds at least a rear portion of the conductive shield casing. A cap is fitted about the cable and covers substantially entirely the rear periphery of the dielectric outer sheath. A dielectric boot is overmolded about the cable, the cap and the rear periphery of the outer sheath. The cap prevents ingress of any overmolding material into the sheath and the interior of the connector.

  • Patent number: 5338219
Abstract: An electric connector assembly including female connector having terminals mounted therein and a male connector mateable with the female connector having terminals mounted therein for mating engagement with the terminals of the male connector. Latch means are formed on the female connector housing and interengaging latch means are formed on the male connector housing, both the latch means and interengaging latch means cooperating with each other to selectively latch said connectors together in a mating relationship. The interengaging latch means for the male connector is chosen from a plurality of different interengaging latch means distinguished from one another in that each respective interengaging latch means of one different male housing is different from the interengaging latch means of another different male housing.

  • Patent number: 5189312
Abstract: A multiplexer circuit comprises a plurality of voltage generation circuits which produce corresponding output voltages having respective, different voltage levels in accordance with an ordered sequence thereof, from the lowest to the highest level. The outputs of the plurality of voltage generation circuits are supplied to a common output line. A decoder circuit receives a control data input signal which designates a selected one of the plurality of levels of the output signal and produces a signal for disabling each of the voltage generating circuits having an output voltage level of a higher order than that of the voltage generating circuit producing the output voltage of the selected level designated by the control data input signal. Voltage generating circuits of lower order need not be disabled.
