  • Patent number: 8606086
Abstract: Access point pictures designated as randomly accessible positions are I pictures or P pictures. Information indicating the decoding sequence (I1, P1, B1, B2, B3, B4, P2, . . . ) of pictures functioning as access points and attribute information (picture_type) indicating whether a picture functions as an access point or is necessary for decoding of the access point following a given access point are recorded on the video information recording medium. Random access is possible even if the GOP interval is lengthened.

  • Patent number: 8600218
Abstract: A video information playback method of playing back a recording medium on which a virtual-machine-using content whose video playback can be controlled by a program running in a virtual machine is recorded, including: performing simple resume playback for restarting playback of a main-program video of the virtual-machine-using content without activating the program, when the playback of the main-program video is interrupted and then a playback restart instruction is given; and skipping playback of predetermined video which is to be played back until a menu screen is displayed, when the simple resume playback of the main-program video is finished and then playback from an initial state is performed with activating the program.

  • Patent number: 8488940
Abstract: The amount of data stored in a video buffer (3) that temporarily stores multi-angle streams (A, B) is controlled from information giving the distance between the angle blocks (A—1, B—1, A—2, B—2, . . . ) of the multi-angle streams and an audio stream (C) on a recording medium (10). In multi-angle playback, in which multiple files are read simultaneously, this can shorten the time from when the user switches the angle until the image reproduced by a video display apparatus changes to the intended angle.

  • Publication number: 20130163945
Abstract: A video information player device (100) comprises: a video decoder (126) which decodes content data of content and generates a video signal and a vertical synchronization signal; a synchronization frame processing unit (128) which detects the vertical synchronization signal and generates a synchronization frame triggered by the detection of the vertical synchronization signal; an Ethernet controller (121) which transmits the synchronization frame to another video information player device; and a synchronized output unit (127) which outputs the video signal in synchronization with the vertical synchronization signal. If the Ethernet controller (121) is generating an Ethernet frame when the vertical synchronization signal is detected, the synchronization frame processing unit (128) generates the synchronization frame in parallel with the generation of the Ethernet frame.

  • Patent number: 8422863
Abstract: Provided is a video information playback method of reducing a wait time until playback is resumed when resume playback of a content whose video playback can be controlled by a program operating in a virtual machine. After playback of the content is stopped in the resume playback, the program operating in the virtual machine determines whether or not the content to be playback-resumed is a content whose playback is possible either when the program operating in the virtual machine is activated or deactivated. The information of the determining indicating whether the playback is enabled or disabled is recorded in a nonvolatile memory. When a playback resume instruction is inputted, the information of the determining related to the content to be playback-resumed is read out. When the content is determined to be playback-enabled, playback is resumed from the playback stop position without activating the program operating in the virtual machine.

  • Publication number: 20120236008
Abstract: Disclosed are an image generating apparatus and an image generating method with which the size of a storage region required to display animated images can be suppressed. In the image generating apparatus (1), processing blocks (12, 16, 17) configuring an image generation unit obtain object data segment (130p) and a display operation pattern to be applied to the object data segment (130p) from data storage units (13, 14), in accordance with a specified picture-plane configuration information item (150i) , and generate animated images of the object data segment (130p) in accordance with the object data segment (130p) and the display operation pattern.

  • Publication number: 20120207215
Abstract: A plurality of I- or P-pictures for displaying video images with the same data as the last frame of the main data of the content are added as reproduction synchronization adjustment frames after the last frame of the main data; when reproduction leads a reference reproducing device, more synchronization adjustment frames are reproduced (ST11); when reproduction lags, fewer synchronization adjustment frames are reproduced (ST9). Reproduction can be synchronized among a plurality of reproducing devices (42) that read data from a storage medium and reproduce the data, or receive data by network delivery and reproduce the data, under conditions where system clock correction by use of PCR is impossible.
