  • Patent number: 7515133
Abstract: A display device for a vehicle includes a liquid crystal display (LCD), a panel heater, and a display control circuit. The LCD has a LCD panel and the panel heater is attached to a front of the LCD panel. The display control circuit detects the current time and determines whether the current time is five minutes ahead of a scheduled start time stored in a memory. If so, the display control circuit starts driving the panel heater for warming up the LCD to a proper temperature for providing clear images by the scheduled start time.

  • Patent number: 7466339
Abstract: A stable display of an image on a screen with no motion blur which is obtained without providing a camera with a sensor for detecting vibration. A vehicle-mounted camera apparatus detects vibrations transferred to a vehicle from signals detected by a road surface sensor 4c that detects variation of force applied to a piston rod 6a of a shock absorber 6 constituting a suspension of the vehicle and corrects image motion blur based on the detected vibrations. This allows stable display of the image, with no motion blur, on the screen without providing the camera with a sensor for detecting vibration.

  • Patent number: 7242446
Abstract: A liquid crystal display apparatus includes a liquid crystal display panel, a backlight source behind the liquid crystal display panel, and an optical filter interposed between the liquid crystal display panel and the backlight source for controlling a direction of light passing through the liquid crystal display panel. The optical filter has a plurality of horizontal louvers vertically arranged in a column and perpendicularly disposed to a surface of the liquid crystal display panel. The differences in light reflectivity and transmittance between an upper surface and a lower surface of the louver give the optical filter a half mirror function that controls a direction of a passing light therethrough.

Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to stably display an image with no motion blur, on a screen, without providing a camera with a sensor for detecting vibration. A vehicle-mounted camera apparatus according to the present invention detects the vibration transferred to a vehicle from signals detected by a road surface sensor 4c that detects variation of force applied to a piston rod 6a of a shock absorber 6 constituting a suspension of the vehicle and corrects image motion blur based on the detected vibrations. This allows stable display of the image, with no motion blur, on the screen without providing the camera with a sensor for detecting vibration.
