  • Publication number: 20110196994
Abstract: A DMA control device and a data transfer method, which make it possible to use a DMA channel independent of an operation mode of a processor and realize the protection of DMA control parameters during DMA operation (during a data transfer), while reducing the number of shift of an operating mode of the processor as small as possible, are provided. In requesting a DMA start by locking an access to a ch-0 DMA control register 114 in a secure mode, a CPU 101 instructs an unlock set register 118 to release an access lock when the transfer is completed. Then, when a parameter controlling circuit 119 receives a notification of transfer completion from a ch-0 state managing circuit 116, such parameter controlling circuit instructs a lock set register 115 to release the lock in accordance with the setting of the unlock set register 118.

  • Patent number: 7286601
Abstract: A broadcast system has digital receiving apparatuses that imitate deteriorated reproduction that is observed in analog receiving apparatuses when a transmission path failure occurs, thus preventing the audiences, who are accustomed to the analog broadcasting, from sensing discomfort at the digital broadcasting. A transmission apparatus causes encoding units 11 and 12 to generate low- and high-quality streams based on the same contents, and transmits these streams onto a transmission path while delaying the high-quality stream. In the receiving apparatuses, a reproduction unit 25 reproduces the high-quality stream in a normal state, while packets of the low-quality stream received during a time period T until the current time are accumulated in an accumulation unit 22. If a transmission path failure occurs, a reproduction control unit 26 causes the reproduction unit 25 to reproduce, instead of the high-quality stream, the accumulated packets of the low-quality stream.

  • Publication number: 20060092775
Abstract: Technology is disclosed that allows a viewer to estimate the value of unknown content, and pay a fee relative to the estimated value. A cost corresponding to the value of each section is output for each of a plurality of sections that compose the received content. The recipient estimates the value of each section by referencing the cost of each section. Accordingly, the balance between the value and price of the section viewed on a trial basis does not produce a situation markedly different from that anticipated by the recipient, thus preventing dissatisfaction relating to the cost of the section viewed on a trial basis. A benefit is that, since the recipient views the section on a trial basis while having anticipated the value of the section, the recipient is more inclined to trial view unknown content, and the recipient can be expected to view more content by the content producer.

  • Patent number: 6804742
Abstract: A system integrated circuit that identifies the cause of a malfunction even if the number of output terminals of a system LSI to be assigned to internal buses in the system LSI is strictly restricted. Comparators 11 to 15 are connected to any of a plurality of buses. Each comparator judges whether a certain expected value matches data transferred on a bus connected to the comparator. The selector unit 10 selects one of the plurality of buses in accordance with the judgement result of the comparator, and outputs data transferred on the selected bus to outside the system integrated circuit so that an observer can observe internal state of the system integrated circuit from outside.

  • Publication number: 20030141994
Abstract: Even when an address, which is output from a processor to a memory via an address bus, is scrambled, the address that the processor accesses immediately after reset can be obtained by monitoring the bus, and so there was a possibility that a scrambling key used for scrambling could be deciphered relatively easily. In this invention, a non-encoded area is set in which addresses are not encoded, in an address space. An encoding unit encodes the input address based on the input address and set non-encoded area. For example, addresses that can be obtained easily by monitoring the bus are placed in this non-encoded area. By doing this, security is improved.
