    Abstract: A magnetic head mechanism includes head support bases which are provided on a head carriage and a head arm. The head support base is formed to support a magnetic head at a position within a disk case. The magnetic heads are supported in a state raised from the head carriage and the head arm by the head support bases which are resilient. A wall and a frame shaped part of the head support part are provided so as to enter within the disk case via corresponding one of openings in the disk case. For this reason, even when the magnetic disk rotates at a high speed, the magnetic heads can follow the magnetic disk by stably swaying, so that a sufficient head touch of head pressure is secured.

    Abstract: In a magnetic head in which a gap portion of a core is interposed between an opposed slider and a holding slider and a coil is set in a coil portion of the core, the opposed slider is made of a glass or ceramic material having excellent wear resistance and the holding slider is made of a resin material. The core has an end face thereof brought into contact with a magnetic disk. The opposed slider has a magnetic disk sliding surface that is opposed to a core of a counterpart magnetic head while interposing the magnetic disk between the magnetic disk sliding surface and the core of the counterpart magnetic head. The holding slider stabilizes the position of the core.

    Abstract: A magnetic head carriage device includes a carriage base on which a lower head is mounted, and an upper arm on which an upper head confronting the lower head is mounted, the upper arm having a width in a lateral direction and a base portion at which the upper arm is fixed to the carriage base, the upper arm being vertically movable to the carriage base around the base portion. A head load spring exerts a downward actuating force on the upper arm such that the upper arm is pressed toward the carriage base, the head load spring having an end portion at which the head load spring downwardly presses the upper arm and a base portion at which the head load spring is fixed to the carriage base. A spring guide mechanism restricts a movement of the end portion of the head load spring in the lateral direction such that the end portion is maintained in the center of the width of the upper arm.

    Abstract: A head feeding mechanism of a magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus includes a 0-side carriage which carries a 0-side magnetic head provided on a surface area close to the tip end of the 0-side carriage and is fed in a lengthwise direction of a slot of a magnetic disk holder for holding a magnetic disk by means of a guide device provided in a unit frame. The head feeding mechanism includes a thin portion formed at the end of the 0-side carriage, an opening formed at the center of the thin portion into which connection pins of the 0-side magnetic head can be inserted, a head seat surface which is matched in shape with the 0-side magnetic head and is formed on the front side of the thin portion, and a housing groove formed on the rear side of the thin portion for housing a connection end of a flexible printed board.
