  • Patent number: 7048978
Abstract: To provide a polyester resin particularly useful in application to optical films, etc. A polyester resin which is an alicyclic polyester comprising dicarboxylic acid units and diol units, characterized by the following (1) to (4): (1) the dicarboxylic acid units are composed mainly of 1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid units, (2) the diol units are composed mainly of 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol units, (3) the ratio of alkyl ester terminals to all terminals of the polyester is at most 5 mol %, and (4) the light transmittance of a molded plate of the resin having a thickness of 2 mm is at least 87%.

  • Publication number: 20050277515
Abstract: A starting device has a first friction element, a second friction element, and a control unit controlling them to change their power transmission states. The friction elements are arranged between an engine and wheels. The control unit controls the first element to produce creep torque by its slippage for creep of a motor vehicle. It includes a slip state judging means judging an excessive slip state of the first element in which it deviates from a permissible slip state, and a slip state shifting means shifting the slip state of the first element and a power transmission state of the second element so as to perform a protect control in which a slip amount of the first element decreases and the second element slips, in a case where the slip state judging means judges the excessive slip state.

  • Patent number: 6780490
Abstract: Trays for carrying magnetic heads for magnetic disks are provided, such as magnetic-head carrying trays which are less apt to cause electrical damage due to electrostatic discharge, an excess flow of contact current, etc. or physicochemical damage such as particle detachment, contamination with ions, etc. The trays for carrying magnetic heads for magnetic disks are trays obtained by molding a conductive thermoplastic resin composition containing a conductive loading material, e.g., a conductive filler, and have a surface resistance of from 103 to 1012 &OHgr;.

  • Patent number: 5541243
Abstract: A thermoplastic resin composition comprising (a) a polyphenylene sulfide resin, (b) a polyphenylene ether resin, (c) a specific organophosphorus compound, and (d) a basic compound is disclosed. The composition exhibits improved compatibility between resinous components (a) and (b) and therefore provides a molded article having high mechanical strength and excellent appearance.

  • Patent number: 5418287
Abstract: A resin composition comprising the following component A, component B and component C:component A of polyphenylene ether resin; component B of crystalline polyolefin resin; and component C of graft modified copolymer in which an unsaturated copolymer consisting of ethylene or at least one of .alpha.-olefins having 3 to 12 carbon atoms and at least one of chain nonconjugated dienes of the following general formula is modified with a monomer capable of radical polymerization such as styrene. ##STR1## This resin composition has an improved impact strength, keeping heat resistance and mechanical strength characteristic of polyphenylene ether resins, and molding properties and resistance to organic solvents characteristic of polyolefin resins.
