  • Patent number: 12649563
Abstract: A system for controlling a watercraft includes a satellite positioning sensor, a remote sensor, and a controller. The satellite positioning sensor detects a position of a watercraft based on radio waves transmitted from a satellite. The remote sensor detects a position of a target object. When the satellite positioning sensor receives the radio waves transmitted from the satellite, the controller is configured or programmed to obtain the position of the watercraft detected by the satellite positioning sensor and execute a normal automated navigation such that the watercraft is moved along a predetermined navigation route. The controller is configured or programmed to obtain the position of the target object detected by the remote sensor during navigation of the watercraft, and execute a temporary automated navigation to move the watercraft toward the target object when the satellite positioning sensor is interrupted from receiving the radio waves transmitted from the satellite.

  • Publication number: 20260062109
Abstract: An automatic watercraft maneuvering system includes a propulsion device to propel a watercraft, a steering to change a course of the watercraft, a display to provide visual notification of a state of the watercraft, and a controller configured or programmed to execute an automatic watercraft maneuvering control to control the propulsion device and the steering in order to perform automatic watercraft maneuvering from a departure location to a destination location and control the display according to a state of the automatic watercraft maneuvering control. The controller is configured or programmed to control the display such that a plurality of states including a state in which the automatic watercraft maneuvering control is being executed and a state in which the automatic watercraft maneuvering control is not executable are distinguished and displayed.

  • Publication number: 20260064134
Abstract: An automatic watercraft maneuvering system includes a propulsion device, a steering, a position sensor, a camera, and a controller configured or programmed to execute an automatic watercraft maneuvering control to control the propulsion device and the steering in order to perform automatic watercraft maneuvering from a departure location to a destination location. The automatic watercraft maneuvering control includes a camera watercraft maneuvering control and a position sensor watercraft maneuvering control. The controller is configured or programmed to, when a failure occurs in the position sensor in a predetermined area of water in which the automatic watercraft maneuvering is executable using the camera watercraft maneuvering control, cause the watercraft to head to a predetermined target position in the predetermined area of water in which the failure occurs during the camera watercraft maneuvering control.

  • Publication number: 20250333146
Abstract: An automated watercraft operating system includes a watercraft operating controller and an obstacle sensor. The watercraft operating controller is disposed in a watercraft and is configured or programmed to control a marine propulsion device. The obstacle sensor is configured to detect an obstacle in the surroundings of the watercraft. When the watercraft operating controller determines that a shift state of the marine propulsion device is not switchable, the watercraft operating controller is configured or programmed to stop driving a driver in the marine propulsion device in accordance with a result of detection by the obstacle sensor.

  • Publication number: 20250276777
Abstract: A marine vessel steering control device includes a first imager fixed to a hull to capture an image of a subject, and a controller configured or programmed to include a vessel operation controller to perform an automated vessel operation of the hull based on a captured image obtained by the first imager, and a determiner to determine, based on an imaging angular field of the first imager, whether or not sunlight is located within a reference angular field defined as an angular field within the imaging angular field. In a case where the sunlight is located within the reference angular field, the vessel operation controller is configured or programmed to change an actual traveling direction of the hull to an angle at which the sunlight is located outside the reference angular field.
