  • Patent number: 5577678
Abstract: A handle for a fishing reel comprising a flange which prevents fingers from being contacted with a handle arm to thereby prevent the fingers from being damaged or injured and also to be able to realize a safe and smooth winding operation. In the handle, a support shaft is provided on and projected from the side surface of the end portion of a handle arm, and a handle knob is securely mounted for rotation on the outer periphery of the support shaft. The handle knob includes a knob portion and a flange portion which is disposed in the base portion of one side of the handle knob. he flange portion is either formed integrally with the knob portion or removably secured to the knob portion.

  • Patent number: 5503346
Abstract: A spool shaft is secured to the body of the fishing reel at the center thereof by press-fitting or the like, and projects from the body. The swing member is supported by the shaft so that the member is swingable between first and second positions. A spool is rotatably fitted on the shaft. A spring is strung between the long restriction arm of the swing member in a direction opposite a pin implanted in the body, and urges the member to put the arm in the second position, to restrict the swinging of the swing member. An intermediate gear is rotatably fitted on a shaft secured to the other arm of the swing member, and is always engaged with a drive gear provided on the spool. A drag gear is provided near the intermediate gear so that the latter can be engaged with the former when the swing member is in the second position. A swing member can be prevented from moving at the time of fishline casting operation or the like so as to cause the intermediate gear to collide against the drag gear.

  • Patent number: 5412533
Abstract: A solid electrolytic capacitor is constructed by a capacitor element body, a metal rod extended through the central part of the element body, an anode member, and an insulating layer placed between the flange part of the anode member and the element body. The capacitor element body consists of a chip-like porous solid formed by shaping and sintering rectifying metal particles, the porous solid having a dielectric layer and a solid electrolytic layer both being formed thereon. The anode member includes a protruded part and a flange part, the end face of the protruded part being brought into contact and connected with one of the end faces of the metal rod. A method of manufacturing solid electrolytic capacitors thus constructed is also disclosed.
