  • Patent number: 9878756
Abstract: A front structure of a motorcycle where a larger amount of air can be directed to the inside without increasing the size of the vehicle. A front structure of a motorcycle includes a front fork steerably mounted on a front portion of a vehicle body frame and supporting a front wheel thereon. A front fender is provided for protection from mud being splashed by the front wheel. A duct, through which air flows, is formed on a side surface of the front fender. An air intake opening, for taking in the flow of air, is formed on a front end of the duct with an air discharge opening directed inwardly in the vehicle width direction being formed on a rear end of the duct. The rear end of the duct opens to an inside of an inner surface of the front fork.

  • Patent number: 8042386
Abstract: A test section for a wind-tunnel testing apparatus has a mounting section that mounts an automobile along the internal floor surface of a wind tunnel. Tests are conducted by applying an airflow blown in the wind tunnel to the automobile mounted on the mounting section. The test section includes a slit that is disposed on the floor surface located on the upstream side of the mounting section with respect to the airflow direction so as to extend in the intersecting direction intersecting the airflow direction and that sucks in a portion of the airflow near the floor surface, and lateral suction portions, disposed at both sides of the mounting section, that suck in the incoming airflows R flowing in from the sides of the mounting section.

Abstract: Provided is a test section for a wind-tunnel testing apparatus that is capable of suppressing the influences of a boundary layer on the floor surface and incoming airflows from the sides, and that is capable of measuring aerodynamic forces closer to the those actually occurring. A test section for a wind-tunnel testing apparatus having a mounting section that mounts an automobile along the internal floor surface of a wind tunnel, tests being conducted by applying an airflow blown in the wind tunnel to the automobile mounted on the mounting section, includes a slit that is disposed on the floor surface located on the upstream side of the mounting section with respect to the airflow direction so as to extend in the intersecting direction intersecting the airflow direction and that sucks in a portion of the airflow near the floor surface; and lateral suction portions, disposed at both sides of the mounting section, that suck in the incoming airflows R flowing in from the sides of the mounting section.
