    Abstract: Present application discloses fuel supply device which includes: fuel injection valves respectively arranged on center axes of cylinders, fuel injection valves being configured to inject fuel into the cylinders; fuel distribution portion configured to distribute fuel to fuel injection valves; and fuel supply tubes configured to form supply paths for fuel from fuel distribution portion to fuel injection valves. Fuel distribution portion includes connection portions arranged in arrangement direction so as to be connected to fuel supply tubes. Connection portions include pair of reference connection portions situated at positions distant from each other in arrangement direction by distance between respective bore center axes of cylinders. Fuel supply tubes include pair of fuel supply tubes respectively connected to pair of reference connection portions and two fuel injection valves on two cylinders arranged adjacently to each other. Pair of fuel supply tubes have a common shape.

The connecting passage branches inside the cylinder head into two branch passages, which open at a rear end face of the cylinder head, respectively. An opening portion, one of opening portions of the branch passages, connects to an EGR cooler, and another opening portion, the other of opening portions of the branch passages, connects to a bypass pipe. Accordingly, the exhaust gas recirculation device of an engine which can restrain the device from being improperly large sized, providing the EGR cooler and the bypass pipe, can be provided.

    Abstract: A V-type engine has a plurality of cylinders formed in a pair of cylinder banks. An intake system for the V-type engine includes a surge tank which is communicated with the atmosphere through a common intake passage provided with a throttle valve, discrete intake passages which branch off from the surge tank and are connected to the responsive cylinders, branch passages which branch off from the respective discrete intake passages, one or more volume chambers each of which is communicated with at least two of the branch passages, on-off valves which are respectively provided in the branch passages and are opened and closed according to the operating conditions of the engine. The surge tank is disposed above one of the cylinder banks and the volume chamber or volume chambers are disposed above the other cylinder bank.

    Abstract: An internal combustion engine of the in-line type having a surge tank located above the engine. Intake tubes connect the surge tank with the in-line engine cylinders. The tubes extend from one side of the engine body in a direction away from the engine body and are then curved upwardly in a U-shaped manner toward the surge tank. Surge tank openings and the ends of the intake tubes connected together are both formed as ellipses having a major axis lying in a direction parallel to the cylinder axes. The cross-sectional shape of the intake tubes gradually changes from an ellipse into a circle at approximately the middle or bend of the intake tube.

    Abstract: An intake apparatus for an in-line type internal combustion engine having an elongated surge tank extending the full extension of the in-line cylinders of the engine. Intake passages connect the surge tank with the in-line engine cylinders. A throttle body is secured to one side surface of the surge tank. The registering and connected surfaces of the surge tank and the throttle body are mutually inclined an angle .theta. with respect to the medial plane or axes of the in-line cylinders.
