  • Patent number: 8760736
Abstract: In an image reading apparatus, if a foreign substance that was initially present on a document plate is removed by motion of a document being conveyed, a correct read luminance value is employed, instead of a value calculated by interpolation, for a pixel at which there was initially the foreign substance but there is no longer foreign substance thereby preventing degradation due to the interpolation. If a foreign substance on the document plate is detected after the conveying of the document by the conveying unit is started, correcting by a correcting unit is performed. In a case where the foreign substance on the document plate disappears during the conveying of the document by the conveying unit and the foreign substance is no longer detected, the correcting by the correcting unit is not performed, but image data is produced according to the image of the document read by the reading unit.

  • Patent number: 8643866
Abstract: An electric energy consumption control system that is capable of maximizing convenience to users while controlling the system so that the electric energy consumption of the entire system in a period falls within a target electric energy. An electrical apparatus transmits electric energy consumption of a job with a user name to a control apparatus through the network. A restrictive period setting unit of the control apparatus starts a restrictive period when the electric energy consumption of the entire system is beyond a restriction starting value, and finishes it when the electric energy consumption of the entire system is below a restriction release value. A job restriction unit restricts the job of the user concerned when the accumulated electric energy consumption of the user is beyond the reference value in the restrictive period.

  • Patent number: 8466921
Abstract: In a case that a first processor assists a second processor, the first processor issues a request for execution of a type of image processing assigned to the second processor, receives information specifying data on which the first processor performs the type of image processing assigned to the second processor, and performs the type image processing assigned to the second processor on the data specified by the information. According to this, it is possible to execute auxiliary processing by a light-loaded processor for a heavy-loaded processor in correspondence with loads of plural processors.

  • Patent number: 7821656
Abstract: A drawing processing circuit includes a plurality of rasterizing means capable of executing rasterizing processes in parallel. Each rasterizing means includes a dynamic reconfigurable processor. Data described by a page description language is received, analyzed, and converted into intermediate data for each drawn object. Before execution of a rasterizing process, scheduling data of reconfiguration of the processor is generated by estimating the process time of each rasterizing process on the basis of the intermediate data. The plurality of rasterizing means rasterize the data to bitmap data on the basis of the intermediate data while reconfiguring the processor on the basis of the generated scheduling data. In addition, the process time of each of the plurality of rasterizing means is determined on the basis of the scheduling data. The scheduling data is corrected so as to make the process times of the plurality of rasterizing means substantially equal.
