Patent number: 8409748Abstract: A battery and an electronic apparatus are disclosed by which it can be discriminated with a simple configuration whether or not the battery is of a thin type. The battery is configured such that a wall portion for discrimination of a battery characteristic which is swollen in a lengthwise direction and connects to a connector section is formed at a location of one of end faces positioned rather near to an end portion in a widthwise direction of a case of the battery.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 2005Date of Patent: April 2, 2013Assignee: Sony CorporationInventors: Hideki Hagiwara, Michihito Kobayashi, Yoshihiro Konno, Shoichi Shintani, Yoichi Miyajima, Tsugio Sameshima, Tomohiro Tsumura, Kazuhiro Kitagawa, Kiyoshi Miyamori, Toshio Takeshita, Atsushi Takahashi, Naoto Hosoya, Yoshihisa Tsuchida, Seiya Amatatsu, Nobutatsu Takahashi

Patent number: 7700224Abstract: An electronic apparatus and a battery by which battery inserting and removing operations can be performed smoothly with certainty are disclosed. When a battery is inserted into a battery accommodating chamber, a locking projection of a spring is contacted once with and resiliently deformed outwardly in a widthwise direction by and then slidably moves on an edge portion of a projecting wall. However, when a connector section and an electronic apparatus side connector section are coupled soon, the locking portion of the spring is engaged with a locking recess. In this state, an inclined face of the locking portion displaced to the electronic apparatus side connector section is lockably engaged with a wall face of the locking recess displaced toward the connector section and biases the battery forwardly toward the electronic apparatus side connector section by resilient force of the resilient portion.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 2005Date of Patent: April 20, 2010Assignee: Sony CorporationInventors: Tomohiro Tsumura, Kazuhiro Kitagawa, Kiyoshi Miyamori

Patent number: 7648795Abstract: An electronic apparatus includes: a case body having a battery storing portion formed of a concave portion whose shape is approximately corresponding to an external shape of a battery unit and a sliding member slidably supported on a surface of the case body on the opposite side to the battery storing portion. The battery storing portion has a width corresponding to that of the battery unit, a length corresponding to a length of the battery unit, and a body-side connection terminal connected to a connection terminal of the battery unit. The sliding member includes one or more engagement claws penetrating through the case body, projecting to the inside of the battery storing portion, capable of being engaged with engagement convex portions provided in the battery unit, and a biasing member causing the claws to be biased away from the body-side connection terminal and engaged with the engagement convex portions.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2006Date of Patent: January 19, 2010Assignee: Sony CorporationInventors: Masanori Nagai, Shigekazu Inaba, Tomohiro Tsumura, Seiya Amatatsu
