  • Patent number: 7243250
Abstract: When an event takes place in a standby mode, data corresponding to the event is set to a shadow register. The shadow register is operated with a low speed local clock. The contents of the shadow register are copied to a bus IF register through a selector. The bus IF register is connected to a main circuit through a system LSI bus. Data is read from/written to the bus IF register in synchronization with a high speed clock. When the status of the bus IF register changes, a CPU is notified of an interrupt. In a normal mode, an event corresponding to a status change is set to the data bus IF register not through the shadow register. In the standby mode, power of the main circuit is turned off. The high speed clock for the bus IF register is stopped. Thus, the power consumption can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20070048611
Abstract: A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery including a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The positive electrode includes a positive electrode active material that comprises a lithium-containing manganese oxide, and the negative electrode includes a negative electrode active material that comprises silicon and a transition metal element. When the battery voltage is 0 V, the positive electrode and the negative electrode have a potential of 1.8 V or higher relative to lithium metal (Li/Li+). Since the deterioration of the positive and negative electrode active materials is suppressed, this non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery has both high capacity and excellent deep discharge cycle life.

  • Patent number: 7174090
Abstract: In a digital VTR having a certain recording bit rate, within a range not higher than a remaining data rate after recording the bit stream, first HP data D1 is recorded in first specific regions, and second HP data D2 is recorded in second specific regions in specific tracks. In middle-speed and high-speed fast replay, the magnetic tape is transported continuously at a middle-speed or high-speed higher than the standard speed for normal replay, and the first HP data D1 is used in common, and at a low-speed fast replay of about twice the normal speed, the speed of the magnetic tape is alternated between a speed near the standard speed for normal replay, and a speed near the low-speed fast, and at the speed near the standard speed, the second HP data disposed in the second specific regions in the specific tracks and the first HP data disposed in the first specific regions in the specific tracks are both replayed.

  • Patent number: 7131018
Abstract: A system LSI contains a main circuit and an eDRAM. The main circuit contains a standby controlling circuit and a CPU. Each circuit block receives power through independent power lines. Power is always supplied to the standby controlling circuit. When the system LSI has entered a standby state, power to the main circuit is turned off. Only when the eDRAM is used, power is supplied thereto. The standby controlling circuit and a power controlling circuit control power supplied to each circuit block. When there is no task the CPU has to process, the system LSI enters the standby state from the operation state. When an operation input has taken place with an operating portion or when an input has taken place in an external input, the standby controlling circuit performs a process necessary for waking up the system LSI. Power is supplied to the main circuit.

  • Publication number: 20060188778
Abstract: A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery having a positive electrode and a negative electrode with an active material capable of absorbing and desorbing lithium, a separator interposed between the positive and negative electrodes, and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The negative electrode active material is covered by a coating having elasticity. The fully elastic coating expands and contracts following the volume change of the negative electrode active material; thus, the coating brings out its desired functions without being damaged or broken. Regardless of the degree of the volume change of the negative electrode active material, a lasting coating without damage is formed on the negative electrode active material, to improve performances of the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery.

  • Publication number: 20060102473
Abstract: A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery that has a high electrical capacity and exhibits excellent cycle characteristics even when the battery is rapidly charged and discharged at a large current includes: a positive electrode capable of reversibly absorbing and desorbing Li; a negative electrode; and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The negative electrode includes an alloying material that is capable of electrochemically absorbing and desorbing Li, and includes an A phase composed mainly of Si and a B phase including an intermetallic compound of at least one transition metal element and Si. The transition metal element is selected from the group consisting of Ti, Zr, Ni, Cu, and Fe. At least one of the A phase and the B phase includes a microcrystalline or amorphous region. The weight percent of the A phase relative to the total weight of the A phase and the B phase is greater than 40% and not greater than 95%.

  • Patent number: 6977964
Abstract: A digital VTR for magnetically recording and replaying a bit stream, includes a detector, an extractor, a mode designator, and an output unit. The detector detects intra-picture data in the bit stream being replayed from tracks in a magnetic medium. The extractor extracts the intra-picture data from the bit stream based on output from the detector. The mode designator designates one of a normal replay and a slow replay as a replay mode. The slow replay is replay performed at a speed slower than normal replay. The output unit stores the extracted intra-picture data, and outputs only the extracted intra-picture data as replay picture data when the slow replay mode is designated.
