  • Patent number: 4224917
Abstract: This invention relates to an ignition device of the type wherein a pickup coil for making a signal synchronous with the engine revolution is disposed within a distributor, an amplifier circuit for amplifying the output of the pickup coil and a power transistor for controlling the primary coil current of an ignition coil are arranged in a circuit unit under hybrid IC and chip states respectively, and the circuit unit is mounted on a side surface of a housing of the distributor.A highly waterproof structure has been found necessary in order that the insulation between the housing and pickup terminals as well as connectors for coupling the pickup coil and the amplifier circuit and the insulation between the terminals may be prevented from degrading due to moisture. To this end, a protuberance which projects from the circuit unit into the housing is disposed in a manner to surround the pickup terminals.

  • Patent number: 4190027
Abstract: An electronic spark timing advancing apparatus for an internal combustion engine having an ignition device is disclosed, wherein a crank angle at which an internal pressure of a cylinder of the engine assumes a peak value is detected and a desired crank angle at which the internal pressure of the cylinder is to assume a peak value under a given condition is calculated in accordance with that condition, and a spark timing of the ignition device is controlled in response to a deviation therebetween to minimize the deviation.

  • Patent number: 4112478
Abstract: A high-temperature detecting apparatus most suitably used with a system for protecting a catalytic apparatus provided for purifying exhaust gas of an automobile is disclosed. A reed relay coil is connected between the cold junctions of a thermocouple in such a manner that the reed relay is driven directly by an electromotive force generated in the thermocouple due to heat in the exhaust gas. The thermocouple and the reed relay are integrally arranged by means of a metal cover. This arrangement reduces the connection resistance between the thermocouple and the coil, thereby making it possible to directly drive the reed relay by the output of the thermocouple.

  • Patent number: 3942485
Abstract: A fuel injection apparatus has two magnetic coils, a valve-opening magnetic coil and a valve-closing magnetic coil. During the valve opening operation the magnetic force caused by the valve opening magnetic coil moves the movable armature toward the opening position for discharging the fuel into the engine and during the valve closing operation the magnetic force caused by the valve-closing magnetic coil moves the movable armature to the closing position for stopping the fuel injection, so that the response time of the fuel injection apparatus is shortened.
