  • Patent number: 6548585
Abstract: Rubber compositions for hose production having excellent scorch resistance, extrudability, moisture impermeability, weatherability (ozone resistance), and compression set resistance, as well as a hose produced therefrom, and in particular, a refrigerant hose and its production process are provided. More illustratively, a composition comprising (A) a brominated copolymer of an isomonoolefin and a p-alkylstyrene (PMS) wherein PMS content, bromine (Br) content, and Br/PMS weight ratio are within particular ranges; (B) zinc white; and (C) a brominated alkylphenol resin, and a hose wherein such composition is used for the inner tube and/or the outer cover are provided. Also provided are a composition comprising (A) the brominated copolymer rubber and (D) an inorganic laminar compound; a hose produced by using such composition for the inner tube; and a process for producing a refrigerant hose from such a composition by in-die drawing process.

  • Patent number: 6492454
Abstract: A rubber composition having high adhesiveness to a metal, high modulus, high set resistance and high heat resistance, comprising raw material rubber, 2,4-dimercapto-6-substituted-1,3,5-triazine and a polymer having epoxy groups crosslinkable with the raw material rubber; a process for producing the rubber composition exhibiting adhesion stability, by controlling temperature of mixing step when crosslinking the rubber composition with an organic crosslinking agent; and a hose having excellent heat resistance and sufficient modulus and compression set resistance, wherein an inner tube and/or outer cover comprise the rubber composition and a reinforcing layer comprises brass-plated steel wires.

  • Patent number: 6268417
Abstract: A rubber composition is provided, which comprises: (1) 100 parts by mass of a hydrogenated acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer rubber having high rate of hydrogenation; (2) 1 to 10 parts by mass of an organic peroxide; (3) 0.1 to 15 parts by mass of 2,4-dimercapto-6-substituted-1,3,5-triazine; and (4) 1 to 100 parts by mass of an organic peroxide-crosslinkable polymer having an epoxy group. The rubber composition has high adhesiveness to a metal, high modulus, high set resistance and high heat resistance, thereby being capable of suitably utilizing for composites of rubber and metal, such as belts, tires, rolls, and molded goods, particularly, for composite rubber products of the rubber composition and a brass or bronze-plated steel plate.

  • Patent number: 4992314
Abstract: Rubber compositions are disclosed which are capable of exhibiting superior adhesion and high water resistance in bonding rubbers to brass and to organic fiber cords and also to different rubbers. Such bonding characteristics can be obtained by the use of specified amounts of a selected class of organic sulfur-containing compounds combined with sulfur-curable rubbers, silica, resorcin donors and methylene donors. Hoses are also disclosed which have these compositions applied as adhesive layers.
