  • Patent number: 9350903
Abstract: Because the ejection state of a printing element in a printing apparatus may vary at all times, an inspection item for inspecting a printed image may be set in consideration of the ejection state of the printing element. An inspection item for inspecting a printed image may be set based on information including a temperature characteristic of a printing head and a state of ink such as an elapsed time from the last ejection. This allows image inspection that matches with variations in the ejection state of the printing element.

  • Patent number: 9340034
Abstract: When the width of a recording head is greater than the width of a recording medium having a maximum conveyable width, a recorded image corresponding to ejecting ports in the entire area of the recording head cannot be corrected. Multiple correction test patterns are recorded using ejecting ports in part of the recording head, and correction data for correcting an image corresponding to ejecting ports in the entire area of the recording head on the basis of the colorimetric result of the test patterns. In this way, image data to be recorded by the ejecting ports in the entire area of the recording head is corrected.

  • Publication number: 20160070127
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device filled with a liquid crystal according to one drop filling prevents the liquid crystal from penetrating between a sealant and a TFT substrate or a counter substrate so as to reduce bonding strength in a seal part. The seal part has a wall spacer around the periphery of the sealant. In a terminal-side seal part, a second sealant is formed outside the wall spacer while a second wall spacer is formed outside the second sealant. Thus, the sealant, the wall spacer, and the sealant are sequentially formed in a plan view of a motherboard including liquid crystal display panels to be separated. This configuration can prevent the liquid crystal from penetrating into the seal part according to an internal pressure.

  • Patent number: 9275650
Abstract: A new hybrid audio decoder and a new hybrid audio encoder having block switching for speech signals and audio signals are provided. Currently, very low bitrate audio coding methods for speech and audio signals are proposed. These audio coding methods cause very long delays. Generally, in coding an audio signal, an algorithm delay tends to be long to achieve higher frequency resolution. In coding a speech signal, the delay needs to be reduced because the speech signal is used for telecommunication. To balance fine coding quality for speech and audio input signals with very low bitrate, a combination of a low delay filter bank like AAC-ELD and a CELP coding method is provided.

  • Patent number: 9234247
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for detecting mutation(s) in nucleotide sequence, which comprises performing a nucleic acid amplification reaction by using an oligonucleotide or a salt thereof as a primer and a nucleic acid in a sample as a template and detecting a reaction product, wherein the oligonucleotide is so modified at the nucleotide at the second position from the 3?-terminus as to inhibit the nucleic acid synthesis. Also disclosed is a kit for the method. According to the present invention, since it is possible to completely eliminate any false positive result in the determination and correspond to various mutation patterns by a single run of PCR1 reaction, it becomes possible to design a drug-resistance determination system, which can detect possible plural genetic mutations by a single run of multiplex PCR.

  • Patent number: 9195917
Abstract: In order to print a unit area of a print medium by a first printing scan and a second printing scan, dither patterns are formed which can control the arrangement of dots on the print medium without adverse effects of density unevenness and graininess, that are caused by printing position displacement. Regarding first and second dither patterns, information indicating whether or not a threshold is already set to a reference pixel and one or more pixels around the reference pixel in the first dither pattern is obtained for cases where each pixel in the first dither pattern is the reference pixel. A pixel in the second dither pattern to which a predetermined pixel is to be set is determined based on the obtained information. The first and second dither patterns formed in the above manner are associated with the first printing scan and the second printing scan, respectively.

  • Patent number: 9162477
Abstract: Area information is obtained with respect to a specified color and nozzle position having color unevenness. Then, coordinate information indicating a nozzle position corresponding to the above area information is obtained in a printing head or nozzle array corresponding to an ink color relating to the specified color information. Next, the number of candidate correction values or candidate patches is obtained on the basis of nozzle coordinates obtained corresponding to the area, by referring to a table. In this table, for example, the number of candidate correction values is small at a nozzle position where an effect due to the variations of nozzle ejection characteristics such as a nozzle ejection volume is small and a change direction is constant, and the number of candidate correction values is large at a nozzle position where an effect due to variations of nozzle ejection characteristics is large.

  • Patent number: 9128330
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a bank on a first substrate and surrounding an image display area, a first alignment film on the first substrate, a second alignment film on a second substrate, and a sealing member to seal the liquid crystal material between the first and the second alignment films. The bank has a shape in which a slope of an inside surface standing from an inner peripheral lower end on a side of the image display area is steeper than a slope of an outside surface standing from an outer peripheral lower end on an opposite side to the image display area. The first alignment film contacts the inside surface of the bank and is provided in the image display area. The sealing member passes over the outside surface of the bank in a direction toward the inside surface and overlaps the bank.

  • Patent number: 9090086
Abstract: In an overlapping head including a plurality of recording head chips overlapped to each other, a color shift can occur between a color recorded by an overlapping region and a color recorded by a non-overlapping region, which cannot be corrected by a density correction using head shading or the like. To correct such a color shift, a test pattern is recorded by the overlapping region and the non-overlapping region and colors of the recorded test pattern are measured. Color correction data to be used in correction of colors of an image to be recorded is generated based on a result of the measurement of the colors.

  • Patent number: 9092720
Abstract: Provided is a dither pattern generation method so that a dot arrangement having excellent dispersibility can be obtained in low-gradation areas for single colors and for mixed colors. The dither pattern generation method generates dot patterns for low-gradation areas having threshold values 1 to S so that high dispersibility is obtained in a cyan dot pattern and a magenta dot pattern, and so that in a combined dot pattern made by combining these dot patterns there are no overlapping pixels. The dither pattern generation method then sets threshold values for a cyan dither pattern and a magenta dither pattern based on these generated dot patterns.
