  • Publication number: 20110242369
Abstract: In a stereoscopic imaging device including a plurality of imaging optical systems, a wide-image in which a principal subject is shifted from the center is taken, and also, a tele-image in which the principal subject is enlarged is taken at the same time. A size of a wide-side frame W, that is, a size of an angle of view of a trimming wide-image is decided based on a size of a tele-side frame T, that is, a zoom magnification of a tele-side imaging optical system, a position of the wide-side frame W displayed in the decided size is arbitrarily moved depending on an instruction from an operation unit, an area delimited by the wide-side frame W moved to any position is clipped from a default wide-image, and thereby, the trimming wide-image is obtained. Thereby, the tele-image which is a telephoto image in which a desired subject is zoomed, and the trimming wide-image which is a wide-angle image in which the subject can exist at a position other than the center of the image are simultaneously obtained.

  • Publication number: 20110234845
Abstract: A normal AWB (auto white balance) correction value is calculated based on inputted image data. Further, a face area is identified from the inputted image data and a face AWB correction value is calculated based on image data in the face area. Then, first feature data and second feature data are extracted from the inputted image data and image data in the face area, respectively. A total AWB correction value is calculated in accordance with at least one of the face AWB correction value and the normal AWB correction value based on a comparison result of the first feature data and the second feature data. Thus, an erroneous correction can be prevented in an AWB correction using a face detection function.

  • Patent number: 7999863
Abstract: When the image of a face is detected from within the image of a subject, the brightness of the face image is calculated. If it is determined that the face image is dark are requires a correction, a revised gamma correction curve is calculated in such a manner that both the face image and the overall image of the subject take on the appropriate brightness. A gamma correction is applied using the revised gamma correction curve. Noise reduction processing is executed in order to suppress the amount of noise produced by the gamma correction.

  • Patent number: 7999978
Abstract: The matrix coefficient determining process of the present invention can determine linear matrix and color-difference matrix coefficients appropriate for a given type of light source at the same time. The coefficients can be used to perform color correction of RAW data to ensure good color reproduction. Furthermore, by performing the matrix coefficient determining process for a number of types of light sources, optimum color reproduction coefficients and for each of the light sources can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 7912282
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a face detector and a gamma corrector. The face detector detects a subject area or areas out of image data output from an image sensor. A correction table is produced on the basis of luminance values of the subject area and a frequency distribution of luminance, i.e., distribution information derived from the entire or part of an area represented by the image data. The gamma corrector uses either one of the above correction table and a basic correction table to correct the tone of the image data.

  • Patent number: 7826761
Abstract: There is provided an image forming system that are capable of preventing a user or operator from forgetting to carry out a maintenance operation based on required sub-maintenance items after execution of a maintenance operation based on an associated maintenance item, such as component replacement, cleaning, or adjustment. A table of maintenance items and sub-maintenance items associated with respective ones of the maintenance items is stored in a ROM. When a CPU determines that a maintenance operation based on a selected one of the maintenance items has been completed, the CPU determines whether or not there is any sub-maintenance item associated with the selected maintenance item, by referring to the table. When it is determined that there is one or more sub-maintenance items associated with the selected maintenance item, a CPU provides control to display the sub-maintenance item or items in an operating/display unit.

  • Publication number: 20100252980
Abstract: When a sheet bundle is being conveyed by any one pair of plural pairs of rollers independently movable toward and away from the bundle sheet, before the bound portion of the sheet bundle passes the pair of rollers, the pair of rollers on the downstream side nearest to the bound portion are separated from the sheet bundle, and the pairs of rollers more downstream than that pair convey the sheet bundle. Thereby, it happens less often that the pairs of rollers gather the air collected between adjacent ones of the sheets of the sheet bundle to the bound portion to thereby cause a slack to the sheets, and the occurrence of wrinkles or twists in the sheet bundle can be reduced. Also, the pair of rollers are separated from the sheet bundle before the bound portion passes the pair of rollers, whereby it happens less often that the pair of rollers are damaged by the bound portion, and the sheet bundle can be conveyed smoothly.

  • Patent number: 7801452
Abstract: An image forming system that makes it possible to open or remove an external cover of an apparatus to perform maintenance on the apparatus even while the system is operating. Out of a plurality of conveying paths, at least one conveying path for which at least one part related to the conveying path can be subjected to maintenance is determined, in accordance with a type of the image forming process being executed. The conveying path for which it has been determined that the part related to the conveying path can be subjected to maintenance is displayed on a display device.

  • Patent number: 7594645
Abstract: A sheet processing device includes a pair of gripping rollers which can grip and convey a sheet bundle in a booklet-like form, a pressing roller which presses and flattens the folded back portion of the sheet bundle gripped by the gripping rollers, and a control unit which performs rotation control on the pair of gripping rollers. The control unit controls the gripping rollers so as to stop when the folded back portion of the sheet bundle protrudes from the rollers by a predetermined amount. The pressing roller flattens down the protruding folded back portion when the gripping rollers are stopped by the control unit and is in the state of gripping the sheet bundle.

  • Patent number: 7578497
Abstract: The sheet processing apparatus is equipped with a process tray on which sheets conveyed are stacked, a return belt which moves the sheets stacked on the process tray, a trailing edge stopper which receives an end portion of the sheets moved by the return belt, and a conveyance assist roller which comes into contact with the sheets on the upstream side of the return belt with respect to the sheet moving direction and imparts a load to the movement of the sheets. The return belt moves the sheets to which a load has been imparted by the conveyance assist roller and causes them to be abutted on the trailing edge stopper.

  • Publication number: 20090087099
Abstract: Frame images captured in a continuous manner are acquired, and temporarily stored. Characteristic points of faces in the acquired frame images are extracted. A sum (expression change amount) of distances between characteristic points of the face (face parts) in a current frame and the characteristic points of a preceding frame is calculated. The target frame image in which the expression change amount is largest, and m frame images preceding and following the target frame image in which the expression change amount is largest are extracted as best image candidates. A best shot image is extracted from the best image candidates and stored in a storage medium. Thus, only an image (best shot image) which contains a face which a user wishes to record can be efficiently extracted from among images captured in a continuous manner, and stored.
