    Abstract: Means for diagnosing t(8;21) translocation type acute myeloid leukemia with high sensitivity by a simple operation are disclosed. The present invention provided AML1-MTG8 fused DNA having the nucleotide sequence shown in SEQ ID No. 1 and DNA fragments thereof containing the fused site. The present invention provided AML1-MTG8 fused polypeptide having the amino acid sequence shown in SEQ ID No. 2, and fragments thereof containing the fused site. The present invention provided AML1-MTG8 fused mRNA having the same nucleotide sequence as shown in SEQ ID No. 1 except that thymine is replaced with uracil, and fragments thereof. The present invention provided a probe which is said DNA fragment that is labelled. The present invention provided a method for detecting said fused DNA by using said probe.
