    Abstract: A vehicle control system includes: an electric power steering device that generates an assist torque that assists turning of a wheel caused by a steering wheel rotation; a controller that controls the electric power steering device to generate the assist torque according to the steering wheel rotation in a normal mode; and a state sensor that detects a vehicle travel state and a state of an occupant at a driver's seat. When the occupant at the driver's seat performs a getting-on action or a getting-off action when the vehicle is in an ignition-ON state, the controller controls the electric power steering device in a temporal mode. In the temporal mode, the controller changes a method of controlling the electric power steering device such that the steering wheel rotation is suppressed as compared with a case of the normal mode.

    Abstract: An exhaust gas treatment method by which mercury contained in exhaust gas can be separated and removed efficiently and inexpensively. The method includes cooling an exhaust gas containing mercury in metal vapor phase by spraying water or other methods to condense mercury in the exhaust gas from metal vapor phase into metal liquid and thus to separate and remove mercury from the exhaust gas. When the exhaust gas is cooled by spraying water, the sprayed water is collected and separated into separated water and a solid containing mercury that has condensed to metal liquid, and mercury is recovered from the solid. The metal mercury particles that have condensed to metal liquid are dispersed in cooling water. The metal mercury particles can thus be easily separated and recovered by using a suitable separation device.

The vehicle travel control device determines whether the vehicle goes beyond the target stop position when a subject wheel of the vehicle passes the difference-in-level, based on the difference-in-level position information and the vehicle position information. When determining that the vehicle goes beyond the target stop position, the vehicle travel control device changes the target stop position so as to prevent the subject wheel from passing the difference-in-level, or generates a braking force to stop the vehicle before the subject wheel passes the difference-in-level.

With the apparatus, total unburned carbon content in cement can be reduced, and the quantity of fly ash used in the apparatus can be, increased by the reduced amount of unburned carbon. The removal means can remove unburned carbon contained in gypsum as well as unburned carbon contained in fly ash, and the grinding means may grind the fly ash from which unburned carbon is removed together with the gypsum, from which unburned carbon is removed, and clinker.
