  • Patent number: 6948978
Abstract: A connector has a housing (20) with cavities (26) for receiving terminals (10). A lock (30) projects is provided in each cavity (26) and has a forwardly tapered locking surface (32) that is sloped to project more forward at the base than at the top. The connector also has a retainer (50) with a restricting plate (53) to prevent displacement of the locks (30) toward deformation spaces (36). Push-up protrusions (60) of the restricting plate (53) slip under the lower surfaces of the locks (30) as the retainer (50) is pushed towards a full locking position and push the locks (30) up towards cavities (26). A cam action of the sloped locking surfaces (32) pushes the female terminals (10) forward and against front walls (27).

  • Patent number: 6840818
Abstract: A connector (10) has terminal fittings (11) each of which has a connecting portion (13) formed with slits (15) for receiving a busbar (B). The connector (10) also has a housing (21) with terminal accommodating chambers (22) arranged side-by-side in an arranging direction (AD) for receiving the terminal fittings (11). The arranging direction (AD) is normal to the slits (15). The terminal accommodating chambers (22) are displaced from the adjacent ones in a direction normal to the arranging direction (AD). As a result, the height of partition walls (24) between the adjacent terminal accommodating chambers (22) is shorter than the height of the terminal fitting (11), thereby preventing the slits (15) from being fit to the partition wall (24) at the time of inserting the terminal fitting 11.
