  • Patent number: 6984135
Abstract: A press fit pin of the present invention has a press-fitted region to be press-fitted and connected to a conductive through hole of a printed circuit board or other circuit substrate. The press-fitted region is formed into substantially an M-shape in cross-section, which has two beam-like regions extending substantially in parallel, and a connection region connecting the beam-like regions in a deformable manner. The connection region is formed into such an arcuate shape in cross-section that an upper surface corresponding to a valley side of the M-shape is a concave surface and an opposite lower surface is a convex surface. A part of the upper surface is partially located on the lower surface side with respect to a straight line L connecting left and right inner side continuous portions where the lower surface of the connection region and inner surfaces of the two beam-like regions are continuous to each other.

  • Patent number: 6126475
Abstract: An electrical connector and guide bush therefor wherein the guide bush is mounted upon the front of the electrical connector into an aperture in the front face and wherein a shield is mounted onto the front face. The guide bush receives therein a guide pin from a mating electronic component. The guide bush includes an integral body having a head portion and a tail portion. The tail portion may be retainably inserted into the aperture in the front face. The head portion has a bore therein for receiving the guide pin from the mating electronic component. At least one resilient contact member protrudes into the bore for contacting the guide pin of the mating component when the guide pin is received in the bush. The contact established thereby creates a ground circuit therethrough.

  • Patent number: 6027376
Abstract: A connector assembly for an integrated circuit includes two interengaging connector components. One of the components (1) has a chip receiving socket that receives the integrated circuit (41) while the other component (21) has a wire receiving socket that receives at least one array of wires (99). Each component further includes a plurality of conductive terminals (3,23) that engage the integrated circuit or the wires. The terminals of the other component have their contact portions (29) offset. Two of the terminals of the one component are interconnected so they have two contact blades (10) but only one IC engaging contact (8) whereby a single lead (42) of the IC may be electrically joined to a pair of the wires (99), the voided contact spring region being for alignment with a dummy lead of the IC. The terminals (3,23) are formed in a single die and simultaneously inserted into their respective housings in order to simplify the manufacturing process.
