  • Patent number: 9098044
Abstract: An image forming system includes a feed section, a transport section, a toner-image forming section, a fixing section, a problem detecting section, and an additional feed section. The feed section feeds a sheet. The transport section transports the sheet fed from the feed section. The toner-image forming section forms a toner image onto the sheet transported by the transport section. The fixing section fixes the toner image formed by the toner-image forming section onto the sheet. The problem detecting section detects a problem in a sheet transport operation. The additional feed section feeds an additional sheet from the feed section toward the fixing section if the number of sheets stopped by the transport section in accordance with detection of the problem by the problem detecting section and subsequently transported toward the fixing section after the sheet transport operation is resumed is smaller than a predetermined number.

  • Patent number: 4835938
Abstract: A rod-like stack of coins is introduced between packing rollers. A packing paper is fed between the stack of coins and the packing rollers at a low speed which is the same speed as the rotation of the packing rollers, and the stack of coins is then partially packed at the low speed. Thereafter the stack of coins is packed at a higher speed.

  • Patent number: 4832655
Abstract: A coin stacking apparatus comprises a coin passageway for conveying coins edge-wise, one at a time, and delivering them horizontally. A stacking station is provided for receiving the coins delivered from the forward end of the coin passageway to stack them therein. The stacking station comprises a pair of coin stacking drums each of which has on its outer periphery a ridge providing a support surface for supporting the bottom face of each of the coins delivered from the coin passageway. The ridges on the coin stacking drums are arranged in phase and in the opposite orientations. Each of the ridges is of a spiral configuration raised forwardly in the direction of coin conveyance. A drive mechanism is provided to rotate each of the coin stacking drums in such a direction that the coin support surface of the ridges is inclined downwardly.

  • Patent number: 4572349
Abstract: A coin checking device is provided in a coin handling machine for discriminating genuine coins from counterfeit. The coin checking device includes detection coils comprising a transmitting coil for generating an exciting voltage and a receiving coil for generating an induced voltage. The detection coils detect the passage of each coin and sequentially issue signals. The coin checking device also includes a controller which may be a computer. The controller receives signals from the detection coils and makes calculations on the basis of the values of the signals in accordance with a stored program to obtain a reference value. In the controller, the reference value is then compared with a predetermined acceptable value and the degree of any difference in the value thus obtained determines whether the coin is genuine or counterfeit. The reference value in the controller is constantly renewed on the basis of new signal inputs into the controller.
