  • Patent number: 8470472
Abstract: A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a positive electrode containing a positive-electrode active material, a negative electrode containing a negative-electrode active material, and a non-aqueous electrolyte, and is characterized in that the non-aqueous electrolyte contains 1.0 wt % or less of a compound represented by formula (1) and 2.0 wt % or less of a cyclic sulfate ester represented by formula (2), based on the total weight of the non-aqueous electrolyte. By using the non-aqueous electrolyte including a specified amount of the compound represented by formula (1) and a specified amount of the cyclic sulfate ester, when the battery is used at a low temperature after being stored at a high temperature, the increase of the internal resistance is inhibited.

  • Patent number: 8460821
Abstract: A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery is described, capable of inhibiting the raise of the internal resistance at a low temperature after use in a high-temperature circumstance, and having a good power performance at a low temperature. The non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery has a non-aqueous electrolyte, and is characterized in containing a sulfate ester with a specific structure in an amount of 4.0 wt % or less relative to the total weight of the non-aqueous electrolyte.

  • Publication number: 20130130079
Abstract: A secondary battery includes an opening portion provided to a case. A first sealing body is provided to the opening portion, the first sealing body being displaced or deformed by a pressure difference between an inside and an outside of the case in such manners that the first sealing body is pressed by internal pressure to allow outflow of inside air from the opening portion when the internal pressure in the case is higher than external pressure and that the first sealing body is pressed by the external pressure to prevent entry of outside air from the opening portion when the internal pressure in the case is lower than the external pressure. Pressure in a space surrounded with the case and the first sealing body is set to be lower than pressure outside the space.
