  • Publication number: 20150350473
Abstract: An image forming apparatus is provided with a control circuit. The apparatus control platform where the control circuit manages the hardware resources on an operating system. The standard-application executing part executes the standard application using the managed hardware resources. The extended application platform makes the function of the standard application executed use, and makes the hardware resources use, and it has a standard application service interface part that provides the common interface corresponding to the function of the standard application as an interface for using the function of the standard application. The standard function service searches presence or absence of the standard application, and when the standard application does not present, cancels use of the standard function service from the extended application.

  • Publication number: 20140032863
Abstract: An electronic device includes a target selection unit, a priority determination unit, and a mirroring execution unit. The target selection unit is configured to select, as a mirroring target, a setting value of each of items of the electronic device if the setting value is different from an initial value. The priority determination unit is configured to determine a priority of mirroring, designated for a setting value serving as the mirroring target. The mirroring execution unit is configured to perform the mirroring so as to cause a setting value, whose determined priority is relatively high, to remain on a priority basis.

  • Patent number: 7628555
Abstract: A method of image forming comprises the steps of: converting image data into coded data with a code string using a coding key; forming a small pattern string on a sheet of printing paper by printing small patterns, each small pattern corresponding to a code constructing the coded data; recording a coding key or data corresponding to the coding key on a recording medium combined with the printing paper; advising a user to input a decoding key; reading out recorded data from the recording medium; determining whether the decoding key corresponds with the recorded data; scanning the small pattern string recorded on the printing paper when the decoding key corresponds with the recoded data; converting the small pattern string scanned from the printing paper into the code string; decoding the code string into the original image data using the decoding key; and printing an image on a sheet of printing paper based on the image data.

  • Publication number: 20070268527
Abstract: A method, program product, and system that enables to control a restriction the user may face in using an image forming device when a printer driver or utility software is not installed on a data input device and that successfully allows outputting an image. A printer that acquires print document data from the client PC and outputs a print document includes a filter function unit. The printer function unit consists of a filter configuration management unit that enables management of a filter selectively configured on each of multiple types of interface connected to the client PC, a filter implementation unit implemented with multiple types of filters, and a filter control unit that selectively activates a filter implemented on the filter implementation unit based on management by the filter configuration management unit. The printer function unit also includes a Web function unit that enables filter configuration on a Web page.
