  • Patent number: 4364306
Abstract: A swash plate type compressor, in which there is incorporated a plurality of double-headed compressor pistons, each being formed with an axially central recess between two heads thereof. Inside the recess a generally outer part of the swash plate is arranged so as to establish an operative connection between each piston and the swash plate. The axially central recess has a bottom surface a part of which protrudes toward an outer surface of the swash plate. The protruding part serves to restrict a rotation of each piston about its own axis to a given small amount. The protruding part has an axial length determined so that when each compressor piston approaches one of the two compression dead centers, an outer edge of the swash plate comes away from the protruding part.

  • Patent number: 4329913
Abstract: A round plate shape shoe for incorporation into a swash plate type compressor as an operative engaging element intervened between a rotatable swash plate and a reciprocal piston is structured to have a first flattened face slidably contacting the swash plate and a second face opposite to the first flattened face, the second face being formed with a recess for receiving a ball bearing, which has a spherical shape portion complementary with a part of the ball bearing and a round bore portion with a bottom. The spherical shape portion of the recess is concentric with the round bore portion.

  • Patent number: 4307998
Abstract: Shoes for operatively connecting a swash-plate with the compression pistons of a swash-plate type compressor are made from a novel Cu-based alloy. Improved shoes are characterized by a combination of high heat conductivity and excellent wear resistance properties particularly when subjected to a lubricating condition so severe that no lubricating oil is supplied to the surface of the shoes at the initial period of the compressor operation. At least three alloying elements are selected from Mn, Si, Pb, Sn, the IVb and VIb groups of the periodic table, and added in predetermined amounts to the Cu-based alloy, so that the properties mentioned above are simultaneously obtained. The compressor according to the present invention can be reliably employed, without the occurrence of seizure over a long operational period for air-conditioning vehicles, in which the sliding condition of the shoes is drastically varied with the rotation of the engine.

  • Patent number: 4268225
Abstract: A shoe for incorporation into a swash plate type compressor is structured such that tetrafluoroethylene resin material forming a first and second main portions of the shoe contains a metalic reinforcing member embedded between the two main portions the first main portion made of the tetrafluoroethylene is provided with a flat surface contacting a swash plate of the compressor. The second main portion made of the tetrafluoroethylene is formed with a round recess for receiving a ball bearing operatively connected to a piston of the compressor. The reinforcing member is positioned close to the round recess and far from the flat surface.

Improved shoes are characterized by a combination of high heat conductivity and excellent wear resistance properties particularly when subjected to a lubricating condition so severe that no lubricating oil is supplied to the surface of the shoes at the initial period of the compressor operation. • Patent number: 4236621
Abstract: An apparatus for protecting a compressor from breakdown, in the case where the compressor is arranged so as to be connected to a drive source by means of an electromagnetic clutch having therein an excitation circuit connected, at its one end, to electric power source, and at its other end, to a body of the compressor via a grounding lead wire, which is characterized in that the grounding lead wire is connected to the body of the compressor by means of an electrically conductive connecting member made of a material which is capable of melting under a thermal effect of the compressor when the compressor is overheated.
