    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a treatment for Kawasaki disease, which comprises administering a xanthine derivative represented by the general formula (1): ##STR1## wherein at least one of R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 means a group expressed by CH.sub.3 CO(CH.sub.2).sub.n --, in which n stands for a number of 1-5, and the remaining groups denote individually an alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms. The treatment can prevent the development of coronary lesions, which is the greatest problem of Kawasaki disease.
