  • Publication number: 20160229188
Abstract: A printer is provided with a discharging head that discharges ink, a supporting base that supports a medium, and a cap that receives an ink droplet discharged from the discharging head at the time of maintenance (flushing) implementation. The supporting base and the cap are moved between an ascending position (a supporting position and a flushing position) facing the discharging head along different moving routes and a retractable position. When positions of the supporting base and the cap are replaced with each other so as to perform the flushing during the printing, if the supporting base is firstly retracted from the supporting position, and then a first sensor which detects the supporting base is turned on, the cap ascends from the retractable position. After the flushing, if the cap firstly descends, and then a second sensor which detects the cap is turned on, the supporting base starts to ascend.

  • Publication number: 20110129274
Abstract: A printing apparatus includes a tray loading a medium and detachably mounted to a main body; a transport roller rotated by driving of a transport motor to transport the medium while coming into contact with the medium supplied from the tray to a transport path; a print, condition setting unit setting a print mode among a plurality of print modes in which different transport speeds are different; a control unit controlling the driving of the transport motor based on the set print mode and a rotational amount of the transport roller; a threshold value setting unit setting a threshold value corresponding to at least the set print, mode; and a determination unit measuring a monitoring value indicating a load of the transport motor during a transport period of the medium and determining there is an abnormality when the monitoring value is larger than the set threshold value.

  • Patent number: 7764037
Abstract: An electronic apparatus includes: a timer member that clocks time on the basis of the power supplied from a power source. A power supply member supplies the power to an electric motor of the electronic apparatus and to the timer member from the power source and interrupts the power supply thereto. A heat storage calculating member calculates heat storage of the electric motor and calculates heat storage of the electric motor after stop of the drive on the basis of the time clocked by the timer member. A controller controls the electric motor and controls the power supply member by initiating power-on and power-off operations. This is performed so as to, maintain the power supply to the timer member and the heat storage calculating member during a predetermined time, even after the power-off operation of the operation member.

  • Patent number: 7431521
Abstract: A printing method includes the steps of: preparing a printing apparatus that is provided with a movement motor for moving an ink ejecting section that ejects ink onto a medium, and a carry motor for carrying the medium; repeating driving and stopping of both motors, and alternately driving the movement motor and the carry motor such that a timing, with respect to a timing at which one motor stops driving, at which the other motor starts to drive is at a predetermined timing; changing a stop time of the one motor; and when the stop time of the one motor has become longer than the stop time before being changed, delaying the timing at which the other motor starts to drive compared to the predetermined timing.

  • Patent number: 7222050
Abstract: A temperature condition of a motor is estimated more accurately based on a drive amount of the motor. An apparatus for determining overheating of a motor, includes: an information obtaining section that obtains information about a drive amount of a motor and information about a stop time etc. between drive operations of the motor; a calculating section that executes a calculation of calculating an integrated value by successively adding up the drive amount of the motor based on the information about the drive amount obtained by the information obtaining section, and a calculation of subtracting, from the integrated value, a subtraction value corresponding to the stop time etc. that is obtained based on the information about the stop time etc. obtained by the information obtaining section; and a determining section that determines that the motor is in an overheated state when the subtracted integrated value obtained by the calculating section reaches a predetermined value.
