The fiber width adjustment device includes a pair of wall surfaces, a moving mechanism and rollers. The pair of the wall surfaces form a path for passing the tape. The path has a gradually decreasing width. The moving mechanism is configured to move the path relatively to the tape so that a position at which the tape leaves the path changes. The rollers are for feeding the tape in the path.

    Abstract: A roller unit aligns tapes in a width direction and feeds the tapes in a length direction while pressing the tapes in a thickness direction. The tapes are made of fibers which have not been impregnated with resin or have been impregnated with the resin. The roller unit includes rollers and a support shaft. The rollers rotate by friction force between the tapes and the rollers. The rollers are aligned so that rotation axes lie on a same straight line. Maximum diameters of the rollers are same as each other. The support shaft supports the rollers rotatably at rotational speeds independent from each other. Each of the rollers includes springs and thereby has elasticity. Length directions of the springs as well as expansion and contraction directions of the springs are radial directions of the each of the rollers. The springs are radially disposed inside the each of the rollers.

    Abstract: A fiber feeding device includes rollers, a brake and a belt conveyor. The rollers guide feeding out of tapes. The tapes are arrayed without overlapping the tapes in a width direction. The brake stops first feeding out of a first tape. The belt conveyor feeds out second feeding out of a second tape. The second tape is guided by a selected roller. The second tape is fed out by being sandwiched between the selected roller and the belt conveyor. The selected roller approaches the belt conveyor to sandwich the second tape between the selected roller and the belt conveyor while a nonselected roller retreats from the belt conveyor to prevent a third tape from being sandwiched between the nonselected roller and the belt conveyor. The third tape is guided by the nonselected roller. The third tape includes the first tape.
