  • Patent number: 6987582
Abstract: An image forming apparatus which is superior in operability and does not uselessly read image data is provided. When image data is once read and then a copy start key is pressed again, a determination is made as to whether an automatic document feeder has not been opened and a new original has not been set in the automatic document feeder from the end of a previous read operation to the next pressing of the start key. If the condition is satisfied, image data which is stored in a memory by the previous read operation is read out and printed. If the condition is not satisfied, an original image is read again.

  • Publication number: 20050280860
Abstract: An Internet facsimile machine includes an e-mail generating unit and an e-mail send unit. For sending a multi-page document, the e-mail generating unit generates separate e-mails and attaches image data of a specific page of the document to one of the e-mails and image data of remaining pages to another of the e-mails. The e-mail send unit sends each e-mail. With this arrangement, regardless of the size of image data of the entire document, it is ensured that at least the specific page showing contact information of the sender is successfully sent to the recipient.

  • Patent number: 6633404
Abstract: In order to efficiently utilize a memory in a digital copying machine which reads image data from an original and stores the read image data, whether or not to store image data in the memory is determined when the image data is read or the image data is input through an external interface. For example, image data read by an image reader is stored while data from an external device which is input through the external interface is not stored. This is because when the digital copying machine is used as an external device printer, the owner of the image data is difficult to identify and therefore the image data is not to be stored in the memory.

  • Patent number: 6621993
Abstract: In an image processing apparatus capable of easily preparing a document having plural kinds of images and printing sheets, a plurality of management jobs containing linkage data, such as the order of linking image jobs are stored and registered in storage 32. In linking the image jobs, one of the registered management jobs is selected. Then, a controller 34 causes the execution of linking the plurality of image jobs on the basis of the linkage data of the selected management job. Accordingly, the information of the plurality of image jobs can be treated independently of the information of the data for linking the plurality of image jobs. This permits easy preparation of a linked document having a plurality of images.

  • Patent number: 6421510
Abstract: A digital image forming apparatus is equipped with image input means, image signal storage means and image forming means. The image signal storage means stores image data of a plurality of documents per page. The image forming means forms images on copy paper sheets based on the image data read from the image signal storage means. The digital image forming apparatus is also provided with a saddle stitching mode wherein the image data stored in the image signal storage means is transmitted in sequence to the image forming means so that images are formed on the copy paper sheets in a page order indicated by a page array of saddle stitching corresponding to a total page number of the documents. The digital image forming apparatus is further equipped with mode specification means which make it possible to specify a mode for the spread page that is different from that for the remaining pages.

  • Patent number: 6389170
Abstract: In the image data processing of the digital copying machine (M), the image data is assigned to the expanders (30,31) in such a manner that the expansion time of each of the expanders (30,31) is close to one another. Thus, because the difference of the expansion time between the expanders (30,31) is very close to one another, both of the expanders (30,31) can be efficiently used so that the timing when printing can be started is quickened. In consequence, the speed of expansion processing or print processing is improved.
