  • Patent number: 8302557
Abstract: A device and a method which is capable of uniformly coating, without waste, any flow passages formed in a raw material with a slurry even if a slurry having high viscosity is fed thereto by an amount required for the use of coating without excess and shortage. When the slurry (S) fed to one end of the base material (M) in which a large number of flow passages (2 . . . ) are formed parallel with each other is forced into the flow passages (2 . . . ) by an air pressure to coat the inner walls (2w) of the flow passages, the slurry (S) is fed from a slurry feeding device (6) by a required amount to a slurry storage part (5) formed at the upper surface part of the base material (M) disposed so that both ends of the flow passages (2 . . . ) can be opened in the upper and bottom surfaces thereof. Then, before the slurry (S) is forced into the flow passages (2 . . .

  • Patent number: 7678416
Abstract: In a method of coating a substrate, inner walls of flow channels of the substrate are coated with a slurry. A plurality of flow channels each opened at both end faces are formed in the substrate. The method includes a step of storing a predetermined amount of slurry in a slurry container in which the end of the substrate, where the flow channels of the substrate are opened, can be inserted under pressure into the slurry container. A step of inserting the substrate with the end of the substrate being downward in the slurry container and dipping the substrate under pressure to the slurry liquid surface, and a step of extending the slurry along the inner wall of the flow channels by blow-opening the respective flow channels in a state of up-turning the slurry container together with the substrate.

  • Publication number: 20070128354
Abstract: A method of coating a catalyst substrate by coating a plurality of flow channels of the substrate with a slurry uniformly and reliably to improve the catalyst quality the method comprising a step of storing a predetermined amount of slurry in a slurry container to which the end of the substrate where the flow channels are opened can be inserted under pressure, a step of press-inserting the substrate with the end of the substrate being downward into the slurry container and dipping the same to the slurry surface, and a step of extending the slurry along the inner wall of the flow channels by blow-opening the respective flow channels in a state of upturning the slurry container.
