  • Patent number: 9457783
Abstract: A disk brake is configured as a brake apparatus provided with an electric parking brake function capable of holding braking of a vehicle by driving an electric actuator. A parking brake control apparatus, which controls the electric actuator, actuates the electric actuator so as to release holding of the braking upon determining that the vehicle is in a running state. More specifically, if a speed of the vehicle is maintained at a speed higher than 0 km/h for a predetermined time period, the parking brake control apparatus actuates a rotation/linear motion conversion mechanism by the electric actuator so as to release the holding of the piston of the disk brake.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 20, 2013
Date of Patent: October 4, 2016
    Assignee: HITACHI AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS, LTD.
Inventors: Tomoyuki Kotake, Wataru Yokoyama, Kenichiro Matsubara
  • Patent number: 8972140
Abstract: A disc brake apparatus, in which, at the time of a parking brake release operation, a control unit configured to control driving of an electric motor drives the electric motor so as to cause a piston holding mechanism to stop holding a piston, detects separation of a brake pad from a disk, and then stops driving the electric motor after driving the electric motor by a predetermined amount based on a current value of the electric motor.

    Filed: March 15, 2013
Date of Patent: March 3, 2015
    Assignee: Hitachi Automotive Systems, Ltd.
    Inventors: Tomoyuki Kotake, Hirotaka Oikawa
