  • Publication number: 20050151796
Abstract: An ink-jet recording apparatus includes a recording head which jets inks, and a cable which is connected to the recording head and which is provided with a driving circuit for applying a driving voltage of the recording head. The recording head is formed with nozzle arrays for jetting an ink of a dark color and an ink of a light color respectively. The nozzle array, which jets the ink of the dark color, is disposed farther from the driving circuit than the nozzle array which jets the ink of the light color. The nozzle array, which jets the ink of the dark color, is hardly affected by the heat from the driving circuit. Therefore, the deterioration of the recording quality, which would be otherwise caused by the disturbance of ink discharge from nozzles, is suppressed.

  • Patent number: 6464318
Abstract: The invention provides a recording device capable of accurately detecting the temperature of a recording head that stops a recording operation at a maximum temperature regardless of the unevenness in the temperature characteristics of voltage drop in the forward direction of a first sensor. The invention has a driving circuit for driving a recording head. The temperature of the driving circuit is detected by the first sensor by utilizing the temperature characteristics of voltage drop in the forward direction of the first sensor. When a recording device is turned ON, a room temperature and an output voltage of the first sensor are stored in a memory. The invention also has a calculation unit that performs a calculation to obtain a voltage value that the first sensor will output at a predetermined maximum temperature, based on the room temperature and the output voltage stored in the memory.

  • Publication number: 20020001003
Abstract: To stop recording operation at a maximum temperature regardless of unevenness in temperature characteristics of voltage drop in the forward direction of a first sensor 603. A driving circuit 602 is for driving a recording head 601. Temperature of the driving circuit 602 is detected by the first sensor 603 by utilizing the temperature characteristics of voltage drop in the forward direction of the first sensor 603. At the time of when a recording device 1 is turned ON, a room temperature and an output voltage of the first sensor 603 are stored in a memory 24. Also, a calculation unit 25 performs calculation to obtain a voltage value that the first sensor 603 will output at a predetermined maximum temperature, based on the room temperature and the output voltage stored in the memory 24. When an output from the first sensor 603 reaches the output value calculated by the calculation unit 25, then the control circuit 22 stops recording operation.
