  • Patent number: 4867593
Abstract: A liquid dispenser according to the present invention comprises a container having a rigid top portion and an elastic bag portion, an actuator having a cylindrical portion engageable with the top portion of the container, a pair of flexible legs each having a bent portion and a valve aperture, and a valve device having a valve stem extending longitudinally in the container. The valve stem is engaged with the flexible legs at their ends. A spring is mounted between the actuator and the valve device for biasing the valve device to a closed portion. When pressure is applied manually onto a predetermined portion of the container, the flexible legs are actuated to move the valve out of its closed position so that a liquid in the container is discharged through the opened valve aperture.

  • Patent number: 4844299
Abstract: A fluid discharge device has a fixed member provided with a hollow cylindrical piston having a normally-closed valve on its upper surface, a press member provided with a hollow cylinder which has a normally-closed valve on its upper surface, and which is fitted slidably around the piston, and a storage chamber formed of a soft material, secured to the lower portion of the fixed member and holding fluid therein. The press member is constantly urged upward by a resilient member provided between the press member and the fixed member, to thereby enable the press member to be pressed down freely. The fluid in the storage chamber is discharged to the upper surface of the press member by pressing the press member in the downward direction, and thereafter releasing the press member.

  • Patent number: 4795063
Abstract: A fluid discharging device has a cylinder having a first valve at one end of a suction chamber, and a cylindrical piston movably mounted in the cylinder. The piston has a second valve and a suction opening. A resilient element such as a coil spring is mounted between the cylinder and the piston so that the piston is generally biased against the cylinder. This valve mechanism is disposed in a collapsable container which contains a fluid. The cylinder is connected to an opening of the fluid container so that the first valve is exposed. The fluid discharging device can be disposed within a casing which has a refined appearance and includes an actuator for manually actuating the valve mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4624594
Abstract: A fluid dispenser according to the present invention has a tubular body having therein a fluid chamber, a pusher for pushing the fluid, and a feed mechanism for progressively advancing the pusher. The feed mechanism has a slider and an actuator for advancing the pusher so that a suitable amount of the fluid in the fluid chamber of the tubular body is fed to an outlet of the dispenser. The outlet may be in the form of a nib when the dispenser is in the form of a writing pen.In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the feed mechanism has a nut fixed within the tubular body, a threaded rod threadedly engaged with the nut, a rotary member slidably mounted on the threaded rod and spring biased rearwardly towards the actuator, a slider for rotating the rotary member, and a guide device for guiding the rotary member and the slider. The guide device has grooves on the inner surface of the tubular body.

  • Patent number: 4571105
Abstract: A chuck mechanism incorporated in a mechanical pencil has a plurality of chuck elements in a longitudinal confronting relation. The chuck elements have a pivotal support or fulcrum at their opposing rearward portions so that the elements are pivotable about the fulcrum. The fulcrum is formed proximal to the rear end and distal to the front end jaw portions of the chuck elements. When an axial force is applied to the chuck elements, the jaw portions of the chuck elements are opened to release lead engagement thereby. The rear portion relative to the fulcrum is a portion where an axially forward thrust added thereto is converted to a radially inward thrust to the rear portion.

  • Patent number: 4504163
Abstract: A mechanical pencil having a writing point tube slidably mounted on the forward end portion of a pencil casing, an annular slider device slidably mounted within the pencil casing and having a lead retainer, a first spring for urging the writing point tube in the forward direction, a collet chuck mechanism having a lead engaging collet and a chuck-actuation cylinder, a second spring urging both the lead engaging collet and the chuck-actuation cylinder in the opposite direction and a third spring for urging the collet chuck mechanism in the forward direction. The pencil has a locking device for temporarily engaging the slider at its retracted position, and a pusher for releasing the engagement of the slider. When an axial thrust is applied to the writing tip of the pencil for lead advancement, the slider and the collet chuck mechanism as well are retracted within the pencil casing with their positional relation being unchanged.

  • Patent number: 4459057
Abstract: A mechanical pencil with automatic lead advance in which a slider is temporarily locked at the time when a rearward thrust applied to the pencil tip is released. The slider is locked by an arrangement in which a movable locking tube is disposed around the slider. The locking tube can be inclined relative to the longitudinal axis of the pencil by a spring device so that the slider, when retracted, can be temporarily locked by the inclination of the locking tube.

  • Patent number: 4360280
Abstract: A mechanical pencil of knocking operated type includes an electrical indicator which provides a visible or audible indication of the presence or absence of a writing lead in the mechanical pencil. A power supply in the form of a cell or storage battery is loaded into a pen body. A first and a second channel are provided which electrically connect the power supply with the indicator. The first channel is associated with one of the poles of the power supply, and is formed by a collet chuck and a lead guide sleeve which are disposed within the pen body in spaced relationship from each other. The second channel is associated with the other pole of the power supply, and includes a switch which is operated in response to a knocking operation which drives the collet chuck. When a writing lead is present between the collet chuck and the lead guide sleeve, the both members are electrically connected together through the lead, whereby the first channel is rendered conductive.
