Patent number: 11114370Abstract: A semiconductor device package includes a substrate, a redistribution structure, a conductive pad, a conductive element, and a conductive via. The redistribution structure is disposed over the substrate and includes a first dielectric layer and a first conductive layer. The conductive pad is disposed on a first surface of the first dielectric layer. The conductive element is disposed in the first dielectric layer and is electrically connected to the conductive pad. The conductive via extends from the conductive pad toward the substrate through the conductive element and the first dielectric layer. The first conductive layer is separated from the conductive via.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 2019Date of Patent: September 7, 2021Assignee: ADVANCED SEMICONDUCTOR ENGINEERING, INC.Inventors: Shun-Tsat Tu, Hong-Jyun Lin, Yi Tong Chiu, Yi Chun Wu

Patent number: 8375589Abstract: A folding knife in exemplary embodimentsTong comprises a handle portion, a blade, a locking cross-bolt, and a motion limiting member coupled to the handle. When the blade is in the closed position, the motion limiting member is in a first position that prevents the cross-bolt from moving to its locked position. When pivoting the blade to the open position, the motion limiting member moves to a second position that does not prevent the cross-bolt from moving to its locked position. A biased safety mechanism can also be used to block the cross-bolt from moving to an unlocked position.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2008Date of Patent: February 19, 2013Assignee: GBII CorporationInventors: Rodney L. Bremer, Douglas B. Flagg, Tong Chiu

Patent number: 7536788Abstract: A folding knife includes a handle portion and a blade pivotally coupled to the handle portion for pivoting movement between an open position and a closed position. The knife can include a locking mechanism that retains the blade against pivoting movement when it is in the open position. In particular embodiments, the blade is coupled to the handle portion such that the application of pressure to the blade in a predetermined direction causes displacement of blade relative to the handle portion in the plane within which the blade pivots. The displacement of the blade relative to the handle portion is effective to release the blade from the locking mechanism and allow the blade to be pivoted to the closed position.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2005Date of Patent: May 26, 2009Assignee: GB II CorporationInventors: Edward Tate VanHoy, Tanya Dion VanHoy, Tong Chiu

Patent number: 7437822Abstract: A safety mechanism that protects against inadvertent closure of the blade of a folding knife. In one embodiment, the safety mechanism is implemented in a folding knife having a liner lock with a flexible, resilient locking element. The safety mechanism is movable between a safety position in which the safety mechanism interferes with movement of the flexible locking element to its unlocked position and a release position in which the locking element can be moved to its unlocked position for closing the blade. The safety mechanism is resiliently biased toward the safety position and is retained in this position unless sufficient pressure is applied to the safety mechanism to overcome the biasing force. A biasing mechanism, such as a spring, can be used to apply the required biasing force to the safety mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2006Date of Patent: October 21, 2008Assignee: GBII CorporationInventors: Douglas B. Flagg, Pat Haudbine, Tong Chiu

Publication number: 20070007974Abstract: A method for reducing integral stress of a vertical probe with specific structure is disclosed. The vertical probe includes a probe tip, an insert part and a bent part. The bent part has a first circular arc and a second circular arc and the second circular arc is provided with a radius much greater than that of the first circular arc and the second circular arc is farther away from the probe tip and smoothly extends from the first circular arc. The integral stress of the probe during probing is effectively reduced to avoid overstress.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 5, 2005Publication date: January 11, 2007Inventors: Jinn-Tong Chiu, Chi-liu Shen, Dar-Yuan Chang
