  • Patent number: 11834976
Abstract: An electric gas flow heater has a grid-like heating element through which exhaust gas can flow axially, and which forms an electrical resistance heating. The grid-like heating element includes radially successive layers of band-like material, wherein the layers, in an axial view of the heating element, are bent in an undulating manner and include valleys and peaks. The layers that are located between the radially outermost layer and the radially innermost layer are attached by their peaks and valleys to the respectively radially adjacent layer, so that flow-through openings are formed between the layers. The wavelengths of the layers are increasing radially outwards.

  • Patent number: 10900406
Abstract: A method for production of an exhaust-gas routing device that has a housing, an elongated substrate, and a compensating element, includes the following steps. At least one parameter of the substrate and/or of the compensating element is determined A target parameter, which describes a variable linked to a target geometry of the housing, is determined based on the measured parameter of the substrate and/or of the compensating element. The substrate and the compensating element are arranged in the housing, and the housing is deformed with an overpressure factor which is determined on the basis of at least one previous deformation of a previously manufactured device. The housing is measured after the deformation, and the thus-established values are compared with the target parameter. An overpressure factor for the deformation of a subsequently manufactured device is adapted if a deviation from the target parameter is detected upon measuring which lies above a defined threshold value.

  • Patent number: 9624800
Abstract: A vaporizer for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine has a vaporizer tube and a holding sleeve in which the vaporizer tube is inserted. A clamping sleeve sits on the vaporizer tube. The vaporizer tube includes two circumferentially surrounding clamping surfaces which protrude in a radial direction and cooperate with the holding sleeve and the clamping sleeve such that the clamping surfaces are clamped between the holding sleeve and the clamping sleeve by an axial clamping force to be gastight. At least one of the holding sleeve and the clamping sleeve includes a surrounding sealing edge which rests against the respective clamping surface via a line contact and forms an annular sealing seat. The vaporizer further includes a device preventing relative rotation between the holding sleeve and the vaporizer tube. A heater of the vaporizer is attached to the vaporizer tube using a resistance welding method.
