  • Patent number: 10344489
Abstract: An uplift-resisting assembly, connected to a top of a tubular member of a height adjustable structural column, acts to transfer load, particularly uplift loads imposed on the structure to which the column supports, therethrough and into the tubular member. The housing of the assembly is connected to the tubular member, which is connected to a base such as a footing. A threaded rod extends through the housing and into the tubular member. A top plate, connectable to a structure above is attached to the top of the threaded rod. An adjustment nut, threaded onto the threaded rod for adjusting the height of the column is sandwiched between the top of the housing and the top of the tubular member. The adjustment nut bears on the tubular member in compression and bears on the top of the housing during uplift, the uplift being transferred via the housing into the tubular member.

  • Patent number: 8074808
Abstract: An automated device that separates out desired shells from a batch of mixed shells. The device allows an operator to gather all spent shells from a shooting range, for example, where many different caliber bullets have been fired, and have all the shells separated by size, or caliber. The preferred embodiment provides for includes a container with adjustable slots in four of the container's sides. An electric motor is also provided that is used to rotated the slotted container. The selected shells fall through the slots into a shell catcher. The sides can be removed and replaced, to adjust the slot size, or container sides with adjustable slots can be provided.

  • Patent number: 7987117
Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for providing a real estate auction system. In architecture, the system includes a server device on a network comprising a mechanism for posting a real estate property for auction, a mechanism for acquiring a plurality of data items describing the real estate property for auction from a seller remote device, a mechanism or making the real estate property available at auction to a bidder remote device; and a mechanism for accepting a bid on the real estate property for auction from at least one potential buyer for a predetermined period. The present invention can also be viewed as a method for providing a real estate auction.

  • Publication number: 20050132632
Abstract: A motion-based decoy stand includes a base and a support axis extending from the base to a distal end. In one embodiment, the distal end can form a point. A mounting assembly includes an attachment interface and a hollow shaft connected to the attachment interface, the hollow shaft sliding about the support axis. The mounting assembly can be attached to a decoy where decoy legs would otherwise be present, and can allow the decoy to move with respect to the base. Mounting means and flexible restraints can be configured between the mounting assembly and the base to ensure the decoy moves within an expected range.
