Abstract: Centralized metadata retrieval is presented herein. A method can include receiving, by a system comprising a processor, electronic program guide metadata from a network storage device of a data streaming service; storing, by the system, the electronic program guide metadata in a local storage device of the system; and in response to receiving a program guide based request from a satellite receiver device corresponding to the data streaming service, retrieving, by the system, a portion of the electronic program guide metadata corresponding to the program guide based request from the local storage device, and sending, by the system, the portion of the electronic program guide metadata directed to the satellite receiver device for facilitating a display, via the satellite receiver device, of content corresponding to the portion of the electronic program guide metadata.
