    Abstract: Sandals with biomechanical foot support, robust usability and cost-effectiveness are disclosed. The footwear may comprise a biomechanical sole and a Y-shaped rubber strap anchored to the sole. The sole has a top surface including a raised contour on the medial side of the sandal, and a low profile heel cup. The raised contour on the medial side and the heel cup match the natural anatomic shape of the foot, and thus provides a biomechanical foot support. The bottom surface of the sole may be a roughed surface to provide necessary traction and friction when a wearer/user walks. The bottom surface further comprises a plurality of grooves to allow water to be expelled and increase traction.

    Abstract: Footwear with enhanced wearing comfortability, stability and orthotic foot support are disclosed. The footwear comprises built-in intrinsic midsole, anatomically shaped footbed having a functional arch concavity on a medial side, and deep heel cup. The built-in intrinsic midsole provides ideal foot support and function. Raised sidewalls accentuate a deep heel cup, which controls and matches the natural anatomic shape of the foot. The midsole is made by direct single density injection with integrated orthotic contour. The direct injection midsole to upper creates a strong bond, and resolves a potential of delaminating soles. Furthermore, it eliminates the need and cost of cementing, and improves instant fit/comfort.

    Abstract: Relative compression in an asymmetric internal combustion (IC) engine is determined by measuring the change in speed of the engine crankshaft while the engine is cranked without ignition during each cylinder sub-cycle; the actual change in speed from a maximum to a minimum is measured during the compression stroke of each cylinder of the cylinder bank which is first to fire in the alternating left bank/right bank firing order of the engine, and the change in speed from a minimum to a maximum is measured during the expansion stroke of each cylinder of the second bank, such that the changes in engine speed over one engine cycle is provided as a sequence of delta speed signals associated alternately with a compression stroke and next with an expansion stroke for succeeding left bank and right bank cylinder displacements in accordance with the firing order; the delta speed signal magnitude associated with each cylinder, i.e.

    Abstract: A strain gauge force transducer having a mounting surface and a bearing surface and responsive to compressive loading therebetween is attached at the mounting surface to the sole of a slipper which is adapted to releasably engage the foot of a human operator, the transducer being attached at a force transmitting portion of the sole which receives the force applied by the operator, the bearing surface of the transducer being adapted for contact with the brake pedal of an automobile, the transducer providing, in response to compressive loading resulting from the transmittal of operator-applied force from the sole to the brake pedal, a signal at a magnitude representative of the force applied by the operator to the brake pedal.
